On Saturday, August 12, at the Ritz-Carlton in Laguna Nigel, the Surf Industry Manufacturers Association (SIMA) honored three surf-industry legends for their work in and out of the water during the Waterman’s Ball to benefit the SIMA Environmental Fund.

Now in its 22nd year, the event attracted numerous celebrities including Pamela Anderson – with boyfriend, pro-surfer Jon Rose, Nia Peeples, Perry Farrell (Jane’s Addiction) and emcee Sal Masekela.

Honored at the event were: Big wave surfing champion Greg Long as ‘Waterman of the Year’; Former Malibu mayor and environmental stalwart Jefferson “Zuma Jay” Wagner as ‘Environmentalist of the Year’, and Hawaiian big wave pioneer and legendary shaper George Downing was honored with the ‘2011 Lifetime Achievement Award’.

Celebrities will be walking quite a few red carpets during ‘Oscar’ week in Los Angeles next month, but perhaps the most important carpet they’ll walk will be Global Green’s ‘green carpet.’

The Annual Global Green Pre-Oscar Party is where celebrities and other eco-luminaries are treated to the best in eco-products at the green products showcase and an organic bar. The evening culminates with stellar musical performances that help drive home Global Green’s message.

Only 1,500 guests are invited to the Feb 23rd event, where media and press will gather to hear the latest green messages from some of Hollywood’s biggest stars as they walk the ‘green carpet.’

Stars To Glam Rock For Charity

Perry Farrell (Jane’s Addiction), Etty Farrell and Chris Cox (Thunderpuss) will headline a special Glam Rock concert for charity in LA tonight, September 27.

We Are Golden will take place at the Arena Nightclub to benefit LifeWorks, a youth program at the LA Gay and Lesbian Center.

This is a star-studded event with outrageously funny Alec Mapa as host. Jody Watley (Grammy award winning R&B/jazz artist) brings her groove to an exclusive performance for the VIP Lounge. Carmit (solo artist formerly of The Pussycat Dolls) and the Beat Freaks (MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew) amp up the show and keep the audience rocking. Jay-Z To Headline Coachella For Charity

The 3-day Coachella music festival kicks off in Indio, California, today – with a huge number of bands raising money for charity.

Among the performers at the event will be Jay-Z, Dave Grohl’s Them Crooked Vultures, Perry Farrell, Vampire Weekend, Hot Chip, Faith No More, Corinne Bailey Rae, Radiohead’s Thom Yorke, Gorillaz, Little Boots and many many more.

Beneficiaries of the festival include the Silverlake Conservatory of Music – an organization established by Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Flea that offers children in LA access to free instruments and music lessons – and the Indio Youth Task Force, which is dedicated to creating positive opportunities for the youth of Indio.

Pearl Jam And Incubus To Be Honored At Charity Gala

In celebration of the organization’s 25th Anniversary, the Surfrider Foundation will host a star-studded gala on Friday, October 9, 2009 at the California Science Center’s Wallis Annenberg Building in Downtown Los Angeles.

The event will be highlighted by the presentation of the Surfrider Foundation’s Keeper of the Coast Award. The award, which is only given out once every five years, is presented to celebrities who have made significant contributions towards helping the Surfrider Foundation fulfill its mission. This year, musical acts Incubus and Pearl Jam, along with Baywatch actor David Chokachi will join previous winners including Jack Johnson, Perry Farrell and Bruce Johnston and Mike Love of the Beach Boys.

The event will feature a performance by the legendary CAMP FREDDY, featuring members from Jane’s Addiction, The Cult and Guns n’ Roses.
