Charity biography
In 2008 Vai donated a signed guitar to a charity auction run by Electro Voice in aid of the Minnesota Helps: Bridge Disaster Fund.
He also contributed a track to the corresponding CD project for that cause, saying:
“This piece of music is contributed to this project out of respect and love for the great city of Minneapolis, and with sympathy and support to the families who were affected by the August 1st, 2007 bridge disaster. We are perpetually rebuilding everything, from our cities to our souls. God Bless.”– Steve Vai
Vai established the Make A Noise Foundation to provide musical instruments, music education, and musical culture to young musicians who cannot afford to do these things for themselves.
