Girls Just Wanna Have Fun With Charity Single

X Factor star Lucie Jones is aiding Cancer Research UK through proceeds raised from the re-recording of Cyndi Lauper’s track “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.”

A total of 20 stars – including former Atomic Kitten Liz McClarnon, glamour model Danielle Lloyd and former “EastEnders” actress Lucy Benjamin – raised their voices to bring awareness to breast cancer. Hundreds of local UK women affected by cancer are also featured on the track.

The popular single was originally released in 1984 and was a huge hit for Lauper. Music star Sonique is supporting the re-recording. Her participation marks her first time performing since having her own cancer battle last June.

Danielle Lloyd Gives Back To Linda McCartney Centre

English glamour model and reality TV star Danielle Lloyd has donated all of her winnings from Celebrity Big Brother and The Weakest Link to a hospital.

The 24-year-old former Miss Great Britain has given $117,000 to the Royal Liverpool University Hospital to fund a specialist cancer detecting scanner for the Linda McCartney Centre, the facility’s breast cancer research department. The star said she wanted to donate the money after being treated at the centre three years ago, following the discovery of a lump in her breast.

“To find a lump at 21 was scary,” she said. “The specialists were fantastic and I wanted to do something to help others. I wanted to buy them something that would help the women of Liverpool.”
