Make-A-Wish Kids To Celebrate Wrestlemania With John Cena

WrestleMania XXVII, WWE’s annual pop culture extravaganza, will once again be the centerpiece of a huge wish weekend for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and 30 kids with life-threatening medical conditions.

For the fourth year in the row, WWE and the Make-A-Wish Foundation are granting children’s wishes to attend WrestleMania weekend, April 1-3 in Atlanta. WWE has planned a full list of wish activities for the children, who are traveling from 18 U.S. states, Canada and Australia.

In addition to the excitement of attending WrestleMania at the Georgia Dome on April 3, the wish kids will enjoy exclusive opportunities to meet WWE Superstars and Divas, along with other celebrities, at these events:

John Cena Grants 200 Wishes For Sick Kids

WWE Superstar John Cena has racked up victory after victory during his successful career in sports entertainment. More importantly, he has quietly achieved another impressive record: granting the wishes of 200 children with life-threatening medical conditions through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Cena, who also serves as a Wish Ambassador for the Foundation, granted his 200th wish on CBS’s “The Talk” television program on Thursday, Dec. 9 (airing Dec. 10). Cena surprised the child, 9-year-old Shayan of Agoura Hills, Calif., on the program and invited him to attend Monday Night Raw in New Orleans as part of his wish.

Wrestling stars and fans will be out in droves for this highly anticipated event that will essentially bring forth the rite of passage to a man who is well respected and loved across the entertainment spectrum. On Saturday August 22, world renowned wrestler William Brimstone Kucmierowski will be celebrating his 35th Birthday Bash with his celebrity friends and family by subjecting himself to humility… A Roast!

In a carnival themed setting boasting fire eaters, sword swallowers and contortionists, the man of the hour will be ripped to shreds by some of the people who he calls his, “closest friends.” The Roast Master of the evening will be Brimstone’s long time friend Jose “Dawg” Castillo accompanied by a powerhouse celebrity roasting panel including: Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake(Celebrity Wrestling, WWE Legend), Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (Guns N’ Roses), Claire Unabia (America’s Next Top Model: Cycle 10), Dan Nelson (Anthrax), Darra “Like Dat” Boyd (VH1’s Flavor of Love & Charmed School), Dave “12 Pack” Amerman (VH1’s I Love NY, I Love Money & Daisy of Love), Jamie “Fury” Kovac (American Gladiators), Jose Hernandez, Jr. (HBO’s Oz, Law & Order, Fringe, etc.), Missy Hyatt (First Lady of Wrestling – WWE, WCW, ECW), &Nora Nolan (Comedian). Throughout the evening, specialty finger foods will be provided courtesy of Danny Gagnon(Top Chef) and served by a bevy of tattooed beauties (The Gypsy Queens) dressed to impress in fifties “pin-up” style attire. The dance floor won’t be empty with top notch celebrity DJ Bagel mixing the hottest sounds! Guests will have a sneak preview of the long awaited BrimWEAR clothing line courtesy of Good Tease!!! Celebrities Put Their Votes Where Their Hearts Are

Celebrity endorsement and music have been essential features of political campaigns for the last 70 years. One of the earliest examples dates back to 1932, when Franklin D. Roosevelt used “Happy Days Are Here Again” as the theme song to his first presidential campaign. It eventually became the unofficial anthem for the Democrats, was used for years afterwards, and set a new standard in the way elections were campaigned.

Jump forward to 1960 and you find crooner Frank Sinatra openly supporting the presidential campaign of John F. Kennedy by singing a specially revised version of “High Hopes”. Jump forward further and you will hear the Republicans of 1988 singing the chorus of Bobby McFerrin’s “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” (although McFerrin later asked them to stop using it).

And who can forget Bill Clinton blowing his saxophone along to Fleetwood Mac’s “Don’t Stop” in 1992?

Professional athletes and celebrities are teeing off for a day of golf, contest holes and lunch on the course, and it is all for a good cause. July 16th marks the 13th annual charity golf tournament by Gold’s Gym to benefit the American Diabetes Association at Badlands Country Club, Las Vegas.

This charity golf tournament is a major fundraiser for the Association, which is the nation’s premier voluntary health organization supporting diabetes research, information and advocacy. Founded in 1940, the Association provides services to hundreds of communities across the country. Its collaboration with Gold’s Gym promises a fun-filled day of golf, while raising money for a good cause.

Gene LaMott – president and CEO of Gold’s Gym International – says, “Diabetes is one of the biggest health crises facing our country today, and we are taking action to turn this epidemic around.” Gold’s Gym is the largest co-ed gym chain in the world, helping almost 3 million members in 27 countries achieve their individual potential.
