Charity biography

Bardot retired from acting shortly before her 40th birthday in order to concentrate on animal rights causes. She raised three million French francs by auctioning off jewelry and many personal belongings to found the Brigitte Bardot Foundation for the Welfare and Protection of Animals in 1986.

Second highest bid was $21,000 for Arnold Schwarzenegger’s, third was $16,000 for Michael Caton’s, $11,000 for Ashley Judd’s, $10,000 for Brigitte Bardot’s and $9,000 for David Copperfield’s. »
