  <title>Stars Support Point Foundation LGBTQ Scholarships</title>
  <description>&lt;p&gt;More than 450 guests attended the annual Point Honors gala on April 15 to help support &lt;a href="http://www.looktothestars.org/charity/point-foundation"&gt;Point Foundation&lt;/a&gt; Scholarships and programs for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (&lt;span class="caps"&gt;LGBTQ&lt;/span&gt;) students.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The event, held at Pier Sixty on the Hudson River, raised over $660,000 for Point Foundation (Point), the nation&amp;#8217;s largest scholarship-granting organization for &lt;span class="caps"&gt;LGBTQ&lt;/span&gt; students of merit.&lt;/p&gt;

  <title>Kristin Chenoweth To Perform At CANY Gala</title>
  <description>&lt;p&gt;Tony Award winner Dick Latessa, Honorary Board Chair, brings together Broadway stars to help raise funds for &lt;a href="http://www.looktothestars.org/charity/cany"&gt;Creative Alternatives of New York&lt;/a&gt; (&lt;span class="caps"&gt;CANY&lt;/span&gt;) which uses drama therapy to help New York&amp;#8217;s most vulnerable children and adults.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This year&amp;#8217;s 2013 Annual Gala, which celebrates 30 years of the &lt;span class="caps"&gt;CANY&lt;/span&gt; mission of creativity, community and change to rebuild lives, will be held on Monday, April 29, 2013 at the Edison Hotel Ballroom (240 West 47th Street). The 2013 Honorees are Tony Award winners Katie Finneran and Kathleen Marshall, and in memoriam, &lt;span class="caps"&gt;CANY&lt;/span&gt; Founding Chairperson, Janet L. Levy.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails, appetizers and silent auction. Dinner, show and live auction start at 7:45 p.m. and includes a Special Performance by Tony Award winner &lt;a href="http://www.looktothestars.org/celebrity/kristin-chenoweth"&gt;Kristin Chenoweth&lt;/a&gt;, and video presentation by stage, film and television actor Victor Garber. Tony Award winner &lt;a href="http://www.looktothestars.org/celebrity/judith-light"&gt;Judith Light&lt;/a&gt; will present the award to Ms. Finneran, Tony Award winner Matthew Broderick will present the award to Ms. Marshall, and &lt;span class="caps"&gt;CANY&lt;/span&gt; Founding Board Member James I. Black, &lt;span class="caps"&gt;III&lt;/span&gt; will present the award to Mrs. Levy&amp;#8217;s family.&lt;/p&gt;

  <title>Nigel Barker To Be Honored By Point Foundation</title>

&lt;p&gt;The Point Honors event will be held at New York&amp;#8217;s Pier Sixty starting at 6:30 p.m. Tickets begin at $500. &lt;a href="http://www.pointfoundation.org/phny"&gt;www.pointfoundation.org/phny&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;David Burtka will host the evening.   <title>Broadway Stars To Come Out For Easter Bonnet Competition</title>
  <description>&lt;p&gt;The 26th Annual &lt;a href="http://www.looktothestars.org/charity/broadway-cares-equity-fights-aids"&gt;Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS&lt;/a&gt; Easter Bonnet Competition returns this week, featuring the companies of Broadway, Off-Broadway and national touring productions offering skits, songs and dances, as well as elaborately designed and themed bonnets created specially for the event.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The line-up of presenters, judges and participants for this year&amp;#8217;s edition will include a four-time Tony Award winner, eight Tony Award nominees and more than 200 of Broadway and Off-Broadway&amp;#8217;s most talented performers.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The 2012 edition of the Easter Bonnet Competition will again be presented at the Minskoff Theatre, currently the home of Disney&amp;#8217;s The Lion King. The two-day event will be held April 23 at 4:30 pm and April 24 at 2 pm.&lt;/p&gt;

  <title>Celebrity Charity Event Raises $460,000 For Point Foundation</title>
  <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.looktothestars.org/charity/point-foundation"&gt;Point Foundation&lt;/a&gt; (Point), the nation&amp;#8217;s largest scholarship granting organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (&lt;span class="caps"&gt;LGBT&lt;/span&gt;) students of merit, today announced that it raised over $460,000 at its annual &lt;a href="http://www.looktothestars.org/news/5974-rob-thomas-to-perform-at-point-foundation-celebrity-charity-gala"&gt;Point Honors – New York fundraising gala&lt;/a&gt; held at Capitale in New York on April 4, hosted by &lt;a href="http://www.looktothestars.org/celebrity/kelly-ripa"&gt;Kelly Ripa&lt;/a&gt; and Sam Champion.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The contributions came from corporate sponsorships, table and ticket sales, as well as items sold during the live auction. An additional $100,000 donation was given to support a &lt;a href="http://www.looktothestars.org/charity/point"&gt;Point&lt;/a&gt; Named Scholarship.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Iman and Isaac Mizrahi presented the Point Courage Award to Bravo&amp;#8217;s Andy Cohen, which recognizes an individual who has advocated for the future of the &lt;span class="caps"&gt;LGBT&lt;/span&gt; community and lives with the vision that investing in today&amp;#8217;s potential will produce a brighter tomorrow. Cohen, who thanked his mother for her continued encouragement and support, said, &amp;#8220;It is the Point scholars who are the real courageous ones.&amp;#8221;&lt;/p&gt;
