Ray Romano Returns For Annual Charity Night Of Comedy

Hollywood’s favorite comedians will once again come together for the Ninth Annual Night of Comedy benefitting the Children Affected by AIDS Foundation (CAAF). The event will be hosted by Doris Roberts, and will see event regular Ray Romano hit the stage with a variety of comedy friends.

The event will feature performances by Bryan Callen, Kevin Nealon, Garry Shandling and Fred Willard. Past performers include Wayne Brady, Drew Carey, Dane Cook, Kathy Griffin, Kevin James, George Lopez, Chris Rock, Bob Saget, Sarah Silverman and David Spade. The event is considered one of the best annual charity comedy shows in the US.

Proceeds benefit the Children Affected by AIDS Foundation, the only organization solely devoted to providing social, educational, recreational, and other critical support programs to vulnerable children impacted by HIV/AIDS in the United States and in other countries.

Global Green Celebrity Charity Pre-Oscar Party Tonight

Global Green’s 8th annual Pre-Oscar Party will take place in Hollywood tonight, February 23.

The theme for this year’s event is “Greener Cities for a Cooler Planet” and will benefit Global Green’s initiatives to promote smart solutions to climate change by creating healthy, green communities. The event will feature the debut of the nation’s first ever Model Carbon City Index tool, and for the second year in a row, Suzy Amis Cameron will also unveil the winning green dress design as part of her Red Carpet Green Dress initiative.

Celebrity attendees are expected to include Carrie Underwood, Hayden Panettiere, Kara DioGuardi, Dane Cook, Maggie Grace, Oscar Nominee David O’Russell, Dana Delany, Sharon Lawrence, Stephen Dorff, Paul Stanley, Daniel Powter, Elisabeth Rohm and many more.

Judd Apatow has collected some of his famous friends and put them on film for a special charity video for the American Jewish World Service (AJWS) to celebrate the organization’s 25th anniversary.

Among those to appear on the video are Ben Stiller, Don Johnson, Lindsay Lohan, Sarah Silverman, Kiefer Sutherland, Patrick Stewart, Jerry Seinfeld, Susan Sarandon, John Mayer, Tracy Morgan, Julia Louis Dreyfus, Denis Leary, Helen Hunt, Dane Cook and many more.

A whole bunch of Twittering stars came out in Los Angeles on Friday, March 12, to celebrate the micro-blogging site for charity.

Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, Ben Stiller, Will Ferrell, Justin Long, Jenny McCarthy, Dane Cook, Rainn Wilson, Samantha Ronson, The Hangover’s Ed Helms, 24’s Mary Lynn Rajskub, Mad Men’s Rich Sommer and many more attended the Artists for Peace and Justice (AFPJ) gala, with many taking to the stage to share their favorite Tweets, Twitpics and Twitvids.

Guests recalled their favorite on-line moments to benefit AFPJ’s work in Haiti. Established in early 2009, Artists for Peace and Justice is a fundraising effort founded by Paul Haggis and friends that encourages peace and social justice and addresses issues of poverty and enfranchisement in communities around the world. Over the past year, APJ has focused on raising funds to support essential street schools in Haiti. Following the devastating earthquake APJ has expanded its efforts to include emergency aid. To date, APJ has raised nearly $6.3 million including an impressive $3.5 million in long-term commitments through 2014.

Comedians To Perform For Struggling Families On Christmas Day

The Laugh Factory in Hollywood will hold a very special celebrity charity event on Christmas Day.

The 30th annual Laugh Factory Toy Giveaway and Free Christmas Dinner will offer free meals and toys to struggling families and anyone who is alone for the holiday.

Seatings are available at 1:00, 3:00, 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. Each meal service will feature performances by comedians Paul Rodriguez, Dane Cook, Tom Arnold, Paul Mooney, Larry Miller among others.

Agassi Lines Up Grand Slam for Children

Dane Cook, Daughtry, Tim McGraw and Brian McKnight will headline the Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation’s 2009 Grand Slam for Children benefit concert.

The 14th annual concert boasts Grammy award-winning producer, arranger and composer David Foster as Musical Director, and Andre Agassi will be there to host the event.

The Teenage Choice Awards held in LA over the weekend were not just a chance for some of today’s hottest stars to show their stuff on stage – backstage there was more fun, all in the name of charity.

Celebrities such as Britney Spears, Jordin Sparks, George Lopez, Kat Von D, Lil Mama, Brenda Song, Keke Palmer, Dane Cook, Shawn Johnson, Jennifer Stone, and Taboo, will.i.am and apl.de.ap of the Black Eyed Peas all stopped by to sign backpacks which are to be donated to City of Hope, an innovative biomedical research, treatment and educational institution that is dedicated to the prevention and cure of cancer and other life-threatening diseases, guided by a compassionate patient-centered philosophy, and supported by a national foundation of humanitarian philanthropy.

Stars also played a celebrity version of Bop It – the game that tests a player’s mental and physical skill by having the player follow verbal directions given by the game at faster and faster pace. Celebrities lined up for the challenge, with the winner – Shailene Woodley from ABC’s The Secret Life of an American Teenager – picking up the top prize of $10,000 for the charity of her choice.

Beyoncé Gets Help from Her Sister For Charity Concert

Beyoncé Knowles will join her sister Solange on stage next week for a concert to benefit victims of Hurricane Ike.

The Hope For The Holidays concert will take place at the Houston House of Blues on December 9, with proceeds being distributed by the Survivor Foundation to hurricane victims in Texas.

‘It is an honor for our family to be able to give back to our hometown with a holiday concert that will air on Fuse,’ said the sisters’ father and manager Mathew Knowles. ‘Tina [their mother] grew up in Galveston and still has family and friends there, and we’re fortunate to bring Beyonce and Solange together to support the efforts of The Gulf Coast Ike Relief Fund through the Survivor Foundation.’

Alba, Cook Raise $260K for Variety

A Knoxville screening of “Good Luck Chuck” has benefitted the children’s charity Variety of Eastern Tennessee, thanks to the presence of Jessica Alba and Dane Cook. Fans paid $75 to attend the screening and see the actors, raising a total of $260,000 to help disabled children.

The Variety charity screenings began in 2003 with “Radio” and Cuba Gooding Jr., and “Walking Tall” raised funds the following year. 2005 saw “The Dukes of Hazzard” with Jessica Simpson, Seann William Scott and Knoxville native Johnny Knoxville, and last year’s benefit featured “Talladega Nights” with Will Ferrell. Altogether, nearly $1 million has been raised by the screenings.

The funds are used to purchase mobility equipment for children with physical disabilities and are also shared with other children’s agencies such as Feeding America, Tennessee School for the Deaf and the Empty Stocking Fund.
