Joe Walsh To Perform At William Shatner's Charity Horse Show

William Shatner has announced that Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh will be the musical guest at this year’s Hollywood Charity Horse Show.

Shatner has been hosting the charity horse shows for the last twenty years – inspired after he watched an exhibition by children who were so severely handicapped that some of them could not hold their head up, yet there they were going through intricate exercises on the back of a horse. The program was sponsored by Ahead With Horses, a therapeutic riding group for handicapped children. In 1990, Shatner hosted his first charity horse show, and the event has become a major fixture on the charity calendar.

The Eagles will bring their Long Road to Eden to a special celebrity charity event to honor their manager Irving Azoff and his wife next month.

The Azoffs are set to receive the Spirit Award at City of Hope’s annual Spirit of Life gala concert on May 7 at Universal Studios’ Gibson Amphitheater. Joining the Eagles on stage will be MC Billy Bush and fellow performers Darren Criss, Big Time Rush, Greyson Chance and Cody Simpson.

Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh is offering to help the Australian government tackle the country’s drug problems.

The rocker – who battled severe addictions through most of career – has been clean and sober for 17 years. He successfully fought through his problems after visiting New Zealand in the early 1990s to produce local band Herbs’ album – ironically titled Home Grown – and has returned to the South Pacific several times to help those dealing with addictions.

“I’d love to speak to leaders and politicians in Melbourne, and around Australia, about addiction,” Walsh told The Herald Sun. ""Addiction is a disease and, with help, people can get back to being responsible members of the community.

Former Eagles guitarist Don Felder will treat an audience in New Jersey to an evening at the Hotel California for charity in October.

The 23rd Annoual Umbrella Gala will benefit the Children’s Specialized Hospital. Children’s Specialized Hospital treats 17,000 children each year, making it the largest pediatric rehabilitation system of its kind in the nation. Programs include comprehensive care for kids with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injury and dysfunction, autism, ADHD, premature birth, and life-changing illnesses.

World renowned musician Don Felder was one of the five members and former lead guitarist of the rock group the Eagles for 27 years. Don Felder To Hit Idaho Tonight For Charity Gig

Former Eagles guitarist Don Felder will play a special charity gig at the Sun Valley Pavilion tonight, August 18.

The guitarist will bring his “An Evening at the Hotel California” show to Idaho to benefit St Luke’s Mountain State Tumor Institute and University of Minnesota Cancer Research in an encore performance of last year’s show, which attracted 1,300 fans.

Felder plays dozens of charity shows every year, and says, “I was fortunate enough to be given a gift. And to be able to use it to play for good causes and make people happy is icing on the cake.”

Former Eagles guitarist Don Felder will treat fans to an Evening at the Hotel California for charity in Minneapolis this Saturday, July 24.

The concert, which will also feature Patty Peterson and moZiak, will benefit the CAP Agency of Scott, Carver and Dakota Counties. The CAP Agency was established in 1965 as a part of the war on poverty. The Agency’s programs and services are based on a self-help concept with a focus on case management. Last year, services – such as Meals on Wheels, education and childcare, housing and community support – provided in Scott, Carver and Dakota counties reached over 40,000 people.

The concert takes place at The Epic Event Center, 110N. Fifth Street, Minneapolis, with tickets starting at $20. The evening will feature an auction with prizes such as a guitar signed by Don Felder, and the opportunity to play tambourine in his band.

A huge number of stars and famous faces will hit the golf course in next month as part of the BMW Charity Pro-Am tournament.

The 2010 BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation will be played Thursday, May 13 through Sunday, May 16 at South Carolina’s Bright’s Creek Golf Club, The Carolina Country Club and Thornblade Club. Among the 28 celebrities confirmed to tee off are former Eagles guitarist Don Felder, Catherine Bell, Samuel L. Former Eagles guitarist Don Felder will perform at a special fundraising concert for charity in Los Angeles in June.

The guitar legend will host An Evening at The Hotel California on the rooftop terrace of the Grammy Museum at 800 W. Olympic Blvd on June 5. Proceeds will benefit the Yo San Community Clinic and its externship service sites at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (where it provides acupuncture treatments to children in extreme pain), the Premiere Oncology Foundation in Santa Monica (to provide pain relief to cancer patients), Being Alive in West Hollywood (to provide services to HIV patients) and the Venice Family Pain Clinic (to provide health services to the poor).

The evening will feature a cocktail reception featuring Wolfgang Puck cuisine, a concert, and a live interview with Felder. The evening will conclude with dessert and mingling with the guitar legend himself.

Former Eagles guitarist Don Felder will be honored along with David Spero – legendary rock producer/manager and member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Board of Directors – at the Rock ’Til It Stops gala in Cleveland on May 1.

Eagles Guitarist To Play Charity Concert

Former Eagles guitarist Don Felder is to play a special concert in Sun Valley to benefit leukemia and cancer research next week.

The concert – to take place at the Sun Valley Pavilion in Idaho – will feature a cross section of Eagles hits and Felder’s solo work, and will be part of the Danny Thompson Memorial golf tournament.

“I saw the pavilion and thought, what a great place to have a show!” said Felder. “I proposed the idea to [tournament director] Georgie Fenton. The idea was for all proceeds to go to the Thompson Memorial. Her eyes lit up. Hundreds of e-mails later, the idea finally came to fruition.”

Stars Duet With Cuban Musicians For Climate Change

Amy Winehouse, The Killers and The Rolling Stones have teamed up with a group of Cuban musicians on an album designed to fight climate change.

The artists will perform duets with Rhythms Del Mundo on the CD, titled Classics, with proceeds from the project going to fund climate change projects and natural disaster relief around the world.

Inspired by the 2004 Asian Tsunami, the album will contain musical gems such as The Killers singing The Eagles’ Hotel California, and The Rolling Stones taking on The Drifters’ Under the Boardwalk. Also included on the album will be Amy Winehouse’s take on Sam Cooke’s Cupid. But perhaps the real highlight will be Fall Out Boy and John Mayer teaming up to cover Michael Jackson’s Beat It.

Former guitarist for the Eagles, Don Felder, played a special concert for staff and sufferers of brain injuries at the Association for the Rehabilitation of the Brain Injured (ARBI) in Alberta, Canada, this week.

The music legend entertained with examples from the Eagles songbook, including Hotel California, Tequila Sunrise, and Take It Easy.

“It’s really becoming quite evident how strongly linked our brain is to music,” musical therapist Jennifer Buchanan told the Calgary Sun. “It’s completely tuned in. What we often see is improved speech and gross motor movement through music. It motivates them, inspires and excites people, enabling them to do all sorts of things they otherwise can’t do.”

A charity that aims to eliminate bias against children with disabilities by creating accessible playgrounds and programs that integrate children of all abilities is to hold a star-studded gala this Saturday, March 14.

Hosted by Joe Mantegna, the Our Shining Stars gala will benefit Shane’s Inspiration, a charity established in 1997 after founders Catherine Curry-Williams and Scott Williams lost their son, Shane Alexander, to Spinal Muscular Atrophy (Type I: Werdnig-Hoffman Disease) only a few weeks after his birth.

Expected to attend the gala are Dakota Fanning, Slash, and former NBA Star and current NASCAR racer Derek Strong. Guests will be treated to cocktails, dinner, Rockstar Photobooth, entertainment from comedian Chris Fonseca and a special auction featuring a donated one-of-a-kind collaborative painting. Paraplegic artist Tommy Hollenstein – who paints with the wheels of his wheelchair – created the painting with the collaboration and signatures of sixteen rock stars, including Ringo Starr, Joe Walsh (The Eagles), Slash, and members of Incubus, Santana, The Cars, The Knack, and The Cult.

Classic Rockers Join Led Zep Guitarist For Charity

Some of the biggest names in classic rock have donated items to an auction that benefits a charity supported by one of their contemporaries.

Task Brazil is a UK-based charity established in 1992 that improves the lives and supports the needs of children and pregnant teenage girls living on the streets of Brazil. The charity received a huge boost in 1997 when Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page, who witnessed first hand the deprivation of the children and troubles in the favelas whilst playing in Rio de Janeiro, made a massive donation. The money was used to buy a plot of land in Santa Teresa on which ‘Casa Jimmy’ was built to provide a safe and happy home for a lucky few of the abandoned children.

The current auction features loads of Led Zep items signed by Page, as well as guitars signed by Slash and the Eagles’ Joe Walsh, and items signed by Phil Collins, Bob Geldof, Iron Maiden and many others.

The fantastic Takamine G-Series acoustic guitar has been signed by band members Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Scmidt, and proceeds will go to the Alzheimer’s Association.
