Female Celebrities To Help Build Affordable Housing

Female stars and business leaders will unite to help build affordable housing in San Fernando Valley this weekend.

Among those taking part are T’keyah Crystal Keymah (Cosby/That’s So Raven), Alison Arngrim (Little House on the Prairie), Allison Haislip (The Voice), Anneliesse Vander Pol (That’s So Raven), Carla Ortiz (Land of the Astronauts), Dawnn Lewis (A Different World), Kristina Guerrero, (E! News), Laura Leighton (Pretty Little Liars), Margaret Laurena Kemp (Children of God), Marion Ramsey (Police Academy), Rebecca Holden (Knight Rider), Sarah Drew (Grey’s Anatomy), as well as Days of Our Lives stars Arianne Zucker, Camila Banus, Kate Mansi, Louise Sorel, Peggy McCay and Tamara Braun. Also taking part will be Bold & the Beautiful stars Adrianne Frantz, Ashley Jones and Heather Tom, as well as Young and The Restless stars Kate Linder, Eileen Davidson, Judith Chapman and Michelle Stafford.

Habitat For Humanity are partnering with the Entertainment Industries Council (EIC) for the event. EIC is encouraging film and television producers to elevate the importance of science, engineering and technology careers as viable options for youth and seeks to strengthen how engineers and scientists are portrayed in entertainment media space. So in addition to the many stars, writers and producers, the event will feature women who have excelled in non-traditional careers, from industry executives to construction trades to the space program.

Daytime Soap Stars Give Back To Charity

American soap stars will gather in Los Angeles today to gather and help hand out food to Americans in need in an initiative dubbed Daytime Gives Back.

Expected to attend are stars from Days of Our Lives: Eric Martsolf, Shelley Hennig, Wally Kurth, Lindsay Hartley, Galen Gering and Lauren Koslow; from The Bold & the Beautiful: Heather Tom, Don Diamont, Kyle Lowder; from The Young & The Restless: Michael Muhney, Kate Linder, Daniel Goddard, Eden Riegel, Stacy Haiduk, Michelle Stafford; from General Hospital: Brianna Brown, Lexi Ainsworth; and from All My Children: Denise Vasi, Crishell Stause and Melissa Egan.

The event will benefit Feed the Children, and will be filmed for the 37th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards in June.

Kate Linder Celebrity Charity Gala To Hit LA This Week

Emerging Magazine Celebrity Charity Productions will present the 1st Annual Kate Linder Celebrity Charity Gala, benefiting The ALS Association, Greater Los Angeles Chapter on February 11 at the Montage Beverly Hills Hotel from 6 PM to 10 PM.

A silent auction will begin at 6:30 PM and will continue throughout the evening. Dinner with celebrities will begin at 7PM. A product runway will follow dinner where celebrities will walk the runway, showcasing vendor products and services prior to being auctioned live.

Anyone desiring to attend the free live auction only are welcome. Those wishing to have dinner with celebrities may purchase tickets prior to the event or at the door.

Kate Linder Announces Celebrity Guest List For Charity Event

As reported last month by LookToTheStars.org, Young and the Restless star Kate Linder has announced she will hold her first annual Celebrity Charity Gala in Hollywood on February 11. She has now announced some of her celebrity friends who will join her.

The event aims to raise funds for the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the ALS Association, and will be attended by Young and the Restless cast members Wilson Bethel [Ryder Callahan], Hayley Erin [Abby Carlton], Stacy Haiduk [Emily Peterson/Patty Williams], Sean Kanan [Deacon Sharpe], Vanessa Marano [Eden], Michelle Stafford [Phyllis Summers Newman], and Yvonne Zima [Daisy]. Other celebrities include Alison Arngrim [Little House on the Prairie], Romi Dames [Hannah Montana], Bruce Davison [Longtime Companion], actress Ilene Graff, actress Q’orianka Kilcher, RJ Mitte [Breaking Bad], actress Lorielle New, Kevin Sorbo [Hercules], comedian Rip Taylor and actress Dee Wallace.

The gala includes a gourmet dinner with the stars, live entertainment and a live auction.

Vanessa Williams Supports An End To Violence Against Women

It was Angela Davis, political activist and University Professor, who once said that domestic violence against women could not end without enlisting the help and support of men in our society.

Although there are many organizations, a range of legal remedies, a network of shelters, crisis centers and other sites where survivors are able to find support, none of these efforts or initiatives are aimed at involving men to put an end to their own violence against women. None except A Call To Men, a leading national men’s organization focused on the man’s role in ending violence against women.

Emmy Award nominated actress Vanessa Williams – best known for her work on Showtime’s hit series Soul Food – co-hosted an event at the ArtPeace Gallery in Burbank, California for A Call To Men last week. Williams is a board member of this nonprofit whose mission is to galvanize a national movement of men (and women) dedicated to eradicating this prevalent problem.

Daytime's Brightest Stars Shine For One Night Only Performance

Young & Restless (Y&R) star Judith Chapman has gathered award-winning daytime television actors to perform a play to benefit micro-loan charity Kiva.

The inspiration to help others in a very unique way came one night when Chapman (who plays Gloria) watched a very special reading of Daniel Berrigan’s play The Trial of the Catonsville 9, which was based on the author’s experience of protesting the Vietnam war in the Catonsville incident.

Performed by the Actor’s Gang in Los Angeles, the performance Chapman saw featured the talent of Martin Sheen, Beau Bridges, Neil Patrick Harris and others. Moved by the story and the caliber of talent, Chapman decided to put together a production of the same play with daytime’s best and brightest for a worthy cause.
