Justin Bieber's Under The Mistletoe For Charity

A portion of the proceeds from Justin Bieber’s new Christmas album will benefit charity.

Under The Mistletoe comes out on November 1, and will benefit two of Justin’s favorite charities, Pencils of Promise and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

“Universal [Music] never actually allowed money from the album to go to charity, so it’s kind of a unique thing and I’m very happy and proud of what we’ve done,” he said.

Alicia Keys To Honor George Harrison At Celebrity Charity Concert

Alicia Keys will host her annual Black Ball for charity in New York next month, in honor of former Beatle George Harrison.

Keys’ charity, Keep A Child Alive, will benefit from the concert, which will feature appearances by Usher, Norah Jones, will.i.am and Mary J. Blige, as well as Gary Clark Jr., Jay Sean, Midival Punditz with Karsh Kale and Alicia Keys herself.

Usher Brings Charity To London

Usher was in London recently for sold-out shows at the O2, but he spent time in between concerts to meet young people and discuss how to beat knife crimes.

Amid escalating statistics of knife crimes in Britain’s capital – every year sees an increase of 8% – Usher hopes to help mentor teens most at risk by bringing his New Look Foundation to the city.

“We spoke about teenage pregnancy, gang violence, incarceration, isolation – and one very specific thing was knife crime,” the singer told the Standard. "It’s something the kids kept bringing up and obviously it’s a huge issue here.

Alicia Keys Urges Celebrity Friends To Sacrifice Digital Life For Charity

A number of celebrities are giving up their Facebook and Twitter accounts as part of a new charity initiative for Alicia Keys’ Keep A Child Alive.

The campaign – called Digital Life Sacrifice – will see stars such as Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake and Usher stay away from their computers from December 1 until Keys’ charity raises $1 million.

“It’s really important and super-cool to use mediums that we naturally are on,” says Alicia. "It’s so important to shock you to the point of waking up. It’s not that people don’t care or it’s not that people don’t want to do something, it’s that they never thought of it quite like that.

Rihanna Wants More Birthdays For Charity

Award-winning singer Rihanna is doing more this week than launching her new album, LOUD, and kicking off the American Music Awards.
Justin Bieber Joins Usher's New Look For Charity

Earlier this month, teen star Justin Bieber took time out of his busy schedule to lend support to Usher’s New Look Foundation’s first World Leadership Awards in Atlanta.

“You know, I’m really excited to be here to support Usher, my mentor, and his New Look Foundation. I’m here [and] I’m performing tonight. I’m also helping out another charity,” he shared on the red carpet. “It’s called Pencils of Promise.
We Are The World: Coca-Cola Joins Celebrities For Charity

Twenty-five years ago, the iconic recording, “We Are The World” generated millions of dollars to help ease suffering in Africa. With a contemporary version of the song being released today to aid the victims of the earthquake in Haiti, Coca-Cola will be doing its part to support the cause.

“When we heard about Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie’s incredible plan to re-record ‘We Are the World 25 For Haiti’ to benefit earthquake relief in Haiti, we knew instantly that Coca-Cola had to be involved and help however we could,” said Katie Bayne, Chief Marketing Officer,
Coca-Cola North America. “Spreading the word about this great program is something we can do quickly and effectively by activating Coca-Cola’s powerful communications network.”

Coca-Cola is joining forces with AEG Live, Group M Entertainment, Fremantle Media Enterprises, iTunes Store, YouTube, and Visa to help amplify awareness for “We Are The World 25 For Haiti.” Beginning today Coca-Cola will use a variety of assets to encourage millions of people across the United States to tune into the television broadcasts of the “We Are The World 25 For Haiti” video and to visit www.WORLD25.org to download the song and support those in Haiti. Downloads will also be available on iTunes, and through a partnership with YouTube, the video will be viewable on the We Are the World 25 YouTube Channel. Immediate donations will be made possible by clicking on the “Donate Now” button on YouTube or by downloading the song on iTunes.
