Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs of America (BGCA) have announced a star-studded new Public Service Advertising (PSA) campaign, featuring 21 notable Club alumni dramatically showcasing the impact of the Boys & Girls Club experience in transforming the lives of young people.

The Great Future Start Here PSA made its debut yesterday during an event at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.

On hand for the release of “Great Futures Start Here” was its director, Academy Award-winner Ron Howard, and Club alumnus Denzel Washington, who secured Howard’s support, along with that of producer Brian Grazer and Imagine Entertainment. The spot was filmed in June in Los Angeles.

Gucci and Jennifer Lopez hosted a private party on Saturday, November 20, to launch the Gucci children’s collection at the Gucci Beverly Hills boutique.

Gucci has pledged $1 million to UNICEF’s “Schools for Africa” program in honor of the collection. Over the course of its five-year relationship with UNICEF, Gucci has pledged more than $9 million consistently supporting UNICEF’s life-saving treatment, care and prevention programs for orphans and vulnerable children in sub-Saharan Africa.

The first floor of the store was transformed into a children’s party atmosphere with activities including face painting, coloring with custom Gucci designs and a life size candy bar. Portrait photographers were also on hand in a Gucci photo studio where children and families had their photos taken. Children at the event were able to preview the latest update of the Gucci App which features a new interactive game for kids called “Playground”. This game allows users to dress up dolls in Gucci children’s clothing and draw and color with a variety of Gucci themed templates including the “Aquariva by Gucci” boat and Gucci Bicycle.

The Dizzy Feet Foundation will hold its first ever fundraising event on Sunday, November 29. The inaugural Celebration of Dance will be presented by Nigel Lythgoe, Katie Holmes, Carrie Ann Inaba and Adam Shankman, and will feature Christina Applegate, Channing Tatum and many others.

The charity was recently established by Holmes, Nigel Lythgoe, Carrie Ann Inaba and director/choreographer Adam Shankman, and aims to support, improve and increase access to dance education. “We see so many rough diamonds that you would love to be able to take under your wing and polish and say, ‘Wow, they look like they can become fabulous dancers,’ " Lythgoe told CNN. “But we can’t take people that just show promise. So in order to try and do something with that, we thought of the idea.”

The actress performed a song-and-dance homage to Judy Garland to raise awareness of the Dizzy Feet Foundation, a new charity established by Holmes, Nigel Lythgoe, Carrie Ann Inaba and director/choreographer Adam Shankman. A selection of celebrity designed/autographed jewelry, footwear and other unique items will be on display at auction house Bonhams in New Bond Street, London, tomorrow before being auctioned at Bonhams and Butterfields in Los Angeles on May 28.

Half of the proceeds of the auction, organized by Stars For A Cause, will go to charities chosen by the participating stars, such as the The Art of Elysium, Keep A Child Alive, Red Cross, Elton John AIDS Foundation, UNICEF and many many more.
