Charity biography
Sir Edmund Hillary was a New Zealand born adventurer, explorer, and philanthropist, best remembered for being the first person to climb Mount Everest. He spent the remainder of his life devoted to helping the native Sherpa people of Nepal.
He died of a heart attack in January, 2008, aged 88.
