Stars such as Paris and Nicky Hilton, Gene Simmons, ABC’s The Bachelor Vienna Girardi and Taylor Armstrong from the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills are on the guest list for the 4th annual Hollywood Stars For A Cause event in Hollywood this weekend.

Electus’ Kate Miller and Amanda Krentzman are co-hosting the 4th Annual Hollywood Stars for a Cause event to raise money for CoachArt on Saturday, August 6th at Siren Studios Rooftop. Their mission is to get young professionals more involved in philanthropy by throwing an awesome party!

CoachArt improves the lives of chronically ill children through outpatient activities, mentoring and workshops in hospitals, children’s wards and at patients’ bedsides. KISS legend Gene Simmons and his longtime partner, Shannon Tweed, have adopted a dog from the Saskatoon SPCA, and made a video urging people to follow their example.

“You should adopt a pet from the Saskatoon SPCA,” says Shannon in a video they made for the charity. “They’ve got great animals down there.”

“Do it… or we’ll find out where you live…” jokes Gene, who also made a donation to the organization.

Guests will be treated to the Salute to the Troops Ceremony & Presentation, the Taste of Texas Buffet, Open Premium Bars, Fun Las Vegas Style Casino Games, Silent & Live Auctions, Over Four Hours of Live Concerts, The Live Unveiling of the One of a Kind Gene Simmons Demon Bike and so much more.

Over a thousand wounded warriors, veterans and soldiers recently back from Iraq and Afghanistan will be welcomed to the event, and tribute will be made to those who never made it home. KISS rocker Gene Simmons is encouraging his male fans to ensure their wives and girlfriends are checked regularly for cancer.

“One in every eight women will get breast cancer,” he said on Lopez Tonight! on Monday. “I urge you, the guys out there, to make sure your girlfriend goes to see a doctor today. If you catch it early she will live.”

The plea comes after the bass player’s longtime partner Shannon Tweed, discovered a lump on her breast.

Poker fans will be itching to get their hands on a poker table signed by some great celebrities being auctioned for charity.

The San Manuel table has been signed by KISS members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, as well as Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ray Romano, Magic Johnson, Mary Hart, Huell Hauser and Mayor Villaraigosa. 100% of the proceeds will go to City of Hope, a research, treatment and educational institution dedicated to the prevention and cure of cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

The auction runs until March 15, and can be accessed via eBay.

KISS bassist Gene Simmons has reportedly sold his kidney stone for charity.

“I passed a kidney stone and I put it on eBay for charity,” the musician told The Today Show’s Kathie Lee Gifford last week. “I got $15,000.”

Simmons did not reveal which charity he will give the money to.

Love Ride 2008 Attracts The Big Names

20,000 motorcyclists from across the U.S. and around the world rode in the 25th Annual Love Ride late last month and raised over US$1 million for Southern California-based charities.

The event – which was hosted by Jay Leno and featured celebrity riders such as Gene Simmons, Peter Fonda, Robert Patrick, Rutger Hauer, Larry Hagman, Mark-Paul Harry Gosselaar, Michael Trucco (Battlestar Galactica_), and Carmine Giovinazzo (_CSI: NY) – culminated in a concert featuring the Foo Fighters, ZZ Top, and members of Velvet Revolver.

The annual Love Ride – held along the West Coast of the US from Glendale to Pomona – has raised over $21 million since it was launched in 1984, and is now one of the biggest one-day motorcycle events in the world. Beneficiaries of this year’s event included the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Autism Speaks, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Reading By 9 Child Literacy Initiative, Providence Saint Joseph Foundation, Catholic Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Special Olympics of Southern California, Frostig Center, Scleroderma Foundation, Glendale Community College, Rett Syndrome Foundation, Optimist Youth Homes & Family Centers, Diabetes Institute for Immunology and Transplantation, Friends of Castaic Lake, and the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation.

Stars Compete For Charity On Celebrity Apprentice

16 million people tuned into the first episode of Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice on January 3, a show in which celebrities work to win money for the charity of their choice. Critics may argue it is a publicity stunt to boost ratings, but when $250,000 is at stake to go to a good cause, all is fair in ratings and charity.

The show marks the 7th series of reality television show The Apprentice, and features a return to the original format of a male team versus a female team. The men’s team named themselves Hydra, and the women have chosen the name Empresario.

Every week, the money earned on a project goes to the team leader’s charity. In the first episode, actor Stephen Baldwin headed the winning team, and the breast cancer charity named for his mother – the Carol M. Baldwin Cancer Research Fund – was the first charity to reap the benefits of male star power. Baldwin proudly presented a check in excess on $69,000 to the charity. His celebrity teammates include KISS bass player Gene Simmons, Heavyweight Boxing Champion Lennox Lewis, country singer Trace Adkins, America/Britain’s Got Talent judge Piers Morgan, Ultimate Fighting Champion Tito Ortiz, and Sopranos star Vincent Pastore.
