Freida Pinto Hosts DJ Night To Support The 10 x 10 Global Campaign To Educate Girls

On February 19, actress and L’Oréal Paris spokesperson Freida Pinto joined Vanity Fair and L’Oréal Paris to host a D.J. Night at the newly reopened Teddy’s at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles. The evening, in support of the global education campaign, 10x10, featured performances by some of today’s hottest D.J.’s, including Ms. Nix and D.J. AcE.

Notable attendees included the evening’s host Freida Pinto, D.J. AcE and D.J. Ms. Nix, along with Vanity Fair Vice President and Publisher Edward Menicheschi and guests Will Smith, Dev Patel, Chloe Grace Moretz, Paul Haggis, Jessica Lowndes, Jason George, Alex Morgan, Debby Ryan, Zoe Lister Jones, and more.

Disney Helps Red Cross Prepare For Disasters

As part of National Preparedness Month this September, the American Red Cross has announced a $1 million grant from Disney to help kids and families prepare for disasters and other emergencies.

Disney’s investment will support the Red Cross Pillowcase Preparedness Program as well as other youth services. Disney also developed an interstitial that will air throughout the month of September on Disney Channel, which highlights simple actions kids can take to prepare for emergencies.

“We are so thankful to Disney for their support of the American Red Cross,” said Gail McGovern, president and CEO of the Red Cross. “Their generosity and collaboration is showing the public, especially our youth, how easy it is to prepare for the unexpected. Disney is helping us to prepare communities across the U.S., and they’re by our side as we respond to disasters.”

Stars Bid to Build Wells Through The Thirst Project

The event raised approximately $200,000, thanks in large part to the evenings’ events, including a star-studded, exciting live auction where celebrities including Debby Ryan (Jessie), Tahj Mowry (Baby Daddy), Allie Gonino (The Lying Game), Alice Greczyn (The Lying Game), Cassie Scerbo (Make it or Break it), Geno Segers (Pair of Kings) and more caused a commotion as they competed to sponsor wells to be built in developing countries from Columbia to Uganda to Swaziland. Celebrities Help To Feed The Homeless For Thanksgiving

A host of stars and famous faces turned out in Los Angeles on Wednesday to give the homeless a Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings.

California unemployment hit 12.5 percent in October, the US Department of Agriculture says more people are “food insecure” than ever before and more homeless than ever are eating meals at the Los Angeles Mission.
