K'naan

In 1999, K’naan (Keinan Abdi Warsame) performed a critical piece before the UN High Commissioner for Refugees criticizing the aid missions to Somalia, his home nation that he escaped from during its civil war.

In 2010 he spent time travelling all over Africa and in August 2011 he was back in Somalia to bring attention to the devastating famine.
