Avril Lavigne is celebrating her birthday by launching a massive celebrity charity auction to benefit The Avril Lavigne Foundation.

“Thank you to everyone who has donated, tweeted, or posted so far for the Rockstar Room!” blogged the singer. "The video I posted on Tuesday already has over 50,000 views – I am SO proud to know that all of my fans are coming out to show their support for the Avril Lavigne Foundation. Every little bit helps – so keep it up!

“Our goal is to provide tons of creative ways for you to give back, so over the past few months the Avril Lavigne Foundation has been reaching out to all kinds of musicians to donate items to a Rockstar Auction that will launch today at 4PM PST. Pledge For Education With Nickelback

Nickelback, in partnership with Roadrunner Records and United Way Worldwide, have announced that the band will donate a quarter to United Way education programs for every person who takes United Way’s pledge between now and December 31, 2011 to become a volunteer reader, tutor or mentor for education.

Stars Support STOMP Out Bullying Charity Auction

Love Our Children USA has announced that NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders and South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford are proclaiming October 4th BLUE SHIRT DAY – DAY OF BULLYING PREVENTION to signify the importance of National Bullying Prevention Awareness Week, October 3rd – 9th with bullying prevention activities taking place throughout the month.

National Blue Shirt Day – World Day of Bullying Prevention is observed on the first Monday of every October and is an initiative of STOMP Out Bullying, a signature program of Love Our Children USA.

This year kids, teens and adults are being asked to make October 4th the day that bullying prevention is heard around the world by wearing a Blue Shirt in solidarity to STOMP Out Bullying. Several schools are participating in the day and this will be the second year for Scripps Ranch High School. Kids can get involved by creating World Day of Bullying Prevention – Blue Shirt Day and STOMP Out Bullying events. There are many ways to get involved.

Nickelback Supports New Charity

In December, Nickelback guitarist Ryan Peake and his wife – Treana Peake – travelled to Africa on behalf of the Obakki Foundation, a charity established by Treana to support humanitarian causes by finding and nourishing creativity in all pockets of the world.

The couple blogged about their experiences, and the charity has now produced a coffee table book to raise funds. The children of St.Valentine’s, Hotpec and Grace orphanages in Cameroon, Africa have been ignored, forsaken and forgotten for far too long. This book is their chance for a future that is different from their past.

The charity asked 150 orphans these questions: What makes you happy? What makes you sad? What makes you afraid? The answers will alternately melt and break your hearts.

More than 40 celebrities from around the world are doing their part to help the Parkinson Society Maritime Region (PSMR) fight a disease that affects over a million people in North America.

Plates for Parkinson’s is a collection of celebrity signed and designed plates that are auctioned on eBay to raise money and awareness for Parkinson’s. Celebrities are asked to draw a tulip – the Society’s symbol of hope on a plate – and this year over 40 plates will be auctioned – including designs by Chris Daughtry, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Dennis Rodman, Martin Sheen, Jeff Bridges, Rachael Ray, Eartha Kitt, Sidney Crosby, Muhammad Ali, Alan Alda, Robert Downey Jr., Peter Facinelli, The Cast of CSI and many more!

Canadian favourites Paul Gross, David Suzuki, Paul Brandt, Alanis Morissette, George Stroumboulopoulos, Jully Black, Serena Ryder, The Cast of Degrassi: The Next Generation and Nickelback are also joining the 2009 honor roll.

Celebrities Support Sick Drummer With New Auction

Pierce Brosnan, Tim McGraw, Nickelback, Donna Summer, Keith Urban, The Offspring, Red Hot Chili Peppers and many other big names in show business have come together to support one of their own.

The stars have organized a special benefit auction to help Allen Shellenberger, the 39-year-old drummer for Orange County rock band Lit, who was recently diagnosed with a grade 4 malignant brain tumor. The auction, sponsored by The Make A Noise Foundation through Ebay’s Giving Works Program, is being launched to help offset Allen’s medical costs.

The auction will include autographed items by various celebrities and fellow musicians including an archive-quality signed and numbered giclee of a painting by actor Pierce Brosnan, a custom tattoo session by Aces High, a guitar lesson with Grammy-award winning guitarist Steve Vai, a “Baby Taylor” guitar autographed by Tim McGraw, a “Knocked Up” movie poster signed by Judd Apatow & members of the cast, a dinner with the band Lit, an original lithograph of a painting by Donna Summer, a guitar autographed by Staind, an amplifier autographed by members of No Doubt, Drum Heads signed by The Offspring, a “Stadium Arcadium” CD by Red Hot Chili Peppers signed by the entire band, and autographed items from James Taylor, Nickelback, Maroon 5 and many other one-of-a-kind items. All proceeds from the Ebay auction will benefit Allen and Cedars-Sinai's Maxine Dunitz Neurosurgical Institute in Los Angeles.
