KISS legend Gene Simmons and his longtime partner, Shannon Tweed, have adopted a dog from the Saskatoon SPCA, and made a video urging people to follow their example.

“You should adopt a pet from the Saskatoon SPCA,” says Shannon in a video they made for the charity. “They’ve got great animals down there.”

“Do it… or we’ll find out where you live…” jokes Gene, who also made a donation to the organization.

Professional Poker Player, WSOP Winner, Author and “Celebrity Apprentice” star Annie Duke came out ready to play poker and raise money for charity. Celebrities battled against Annie Duke with the casino crowd cheering her on. Unfortunately, Annie Duke did not make it to the Final Table, getting outplayed by celebrities including Dancing with the Stars alumni Shannon Elizabeth and ABC’s “Off the Map” star Nicholas Gonzalez – both made it to the Final Table.

Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters will host the eleventh annual BROADWAY BARKS!, a star-studded dog and cat adopt-a-thon benefiting New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies.

The third annual Jennifer Harman Charity Poker Tournament benefiting the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) no-kill animal shelter and sanctuary will be held at The Venetian Poker Room on Friday, April 17, in Las Vegas.

The highly anticipated event raised more than $130,00 last year and awarded the winning participant a seat in the World Series of Poker. Jennifer Harman To Play Poker For Kidney Foundation

Celebrity poker player Jennifer Harman is to hold a charity poker tournament to raise money for the National Kidney Foundation.

In 2004, Professional poker player Jennifer Harman took a year away from poker to have her second kidney transplant. After receiving a second kidney through organ donation, Harman founded Creating Organ Donation Awareness (CODA), a non-profit organization to raise money and awareness for the cause.

The two-day tournament will be held at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno on March 11. David Beckham Hits New Zealand For Kids And Animals

David Beckham was in Auckland, New Zealand, last week for several charity events.

First up was a benefit gala for KidsCan, a charity dedicated to meeting the basic physical needs of financially disadvantaged children, leveling the playing field for them so they have the chance to reach their full potential.

Beckham was joined at the gala – held last Thursday, December 4 – by members of New Zealand’s All Blacks, the national rugby team and patrons of the charity, as well as Hollywood star Martin Henderson, who was born in New Zealand.

Jennifer Harman Holds A Royal Flush For SPCA

Last year, professional poker player Jennifer Harman held her Inaugural Charity Poker Tournament for the Nevada SPCA. Thanks to her efforts, the event raised $130,000 for the shelter in Las Vegas, affording them the opportunity to open two new wings for the no-kill shelter.

“It’s amazing what a difference even the smallest donation can make, let alone $130,000,” said Nevada SPCA Executive Director Doug Duke. “The new section will allow us to rescue and shelter about 1,000 animals.”

But Harmon didn’t fold her cards after the event – instead she doubled-up for the Second Annual Jennifer Harman Charity Poker Tournament which was held on Friday, April 18, inside The Venetian Poker Room, and included live/silent auctions and a first place prize of a seat into the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event.
