Joe Walsh To Perform At William Shatner's Charity Horse Show

William Shatner has announced that Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh will be the musical guest at this year’s Hollywood Charity Horse Show.

Shatner has been hosting the charity horse shows for the last twenty years – inspired after he watched an exhibition by children who were so severely handicapped that some of them could not hold their head up, yet there they were going through intricate exercises on the back of a horse. The program was sponsored by Ahead With Horses, a therapeutic riding group for handicapped children. In 1990, Shatner hosted his first charity horse show, and the event has become a major fixture on the charity calendar.

The event will be held at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center, 480 West Riverside Drive, Burbank, on April 28. More information can be found here.

William Shatner, one of America’s most versatile stars and philanthropists has announced that he and John Sotoodeh, Wells Fargo LA Metro/Orange County Regional Bank President, will host a gifting ceremony and media breakfast to distribute checks to the charities supported by the annual Priceline.com Hollywood Charity Horse Show, sponsored by Wells Fargo.

The Hollywood Charity Horse Show is in its 22nd year.

The event will begin at 8:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 25th at Celebrity Chef Fabio Viviani’s Firenze Osteria, 4212 Lankershim Blvd. in Toluca Lake, CA.

Julien’s Auctions Summer Entertainment Auction will offer memorabilia never before offered for sale from one of the most beloved figures in science fiction history, Gene Roddenberry and the universe he created – Star Trek.

The sale will be held at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino Las Vegas on Sunday, June 27th, 2010, and the Roddenberry Estate will donate all proceeds to charity. The assembled items include personal effects, furnishings, memorabilia, books and Star Trek related items from Gene and Majel Roddenberry’s Bel Air home, where the couple lived. Julien’s Auctions are set to auction off personal effects and memorabilia belonging to the late-great creator of Star Trek, Gene Roddenberry, with all the proceeds going to charity.

The one-of-a-kind auction takes place at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on Sunday, June 27th, 2010, and the Roddenberry Estate will donate all proceeds to The Roddenberry Foundation which makes grants to support the four pillars of the Roddenberry Philanthropic Philosophy – Children, Education, Inspiration, and Environment.

“My father would be proud that his memorabilia will not only be enjoyed and cherished by Star Trek fans, but that the proceeds will benefit society on a larger scale,” said Gene’s son, Rod Roddenberry.

William Shatner To Auction Paintings For Haiti And Chile

William Shatner will be the guest of honor at a private charity party in Studio City next week to help relieve the pain and suffering of earthquake victims in Haiti and Chile.

The invitation-only event will see the former Star Trek star auction artworks from his wife, Elizabeth Shatner, and Italian-born artist Giorgio Tuscani. Money raised will go to severely injured and disabled survivors of the two earthquakes, and will provide shelters, food, water and medical care.

The event will take place at Tuscani’s antique-filled Italianate mansion, House of Angels, on Saturday, April 17. Tuscani has also generously put the mansion under the hammer for earthquake victims.
