The Chernobyl Children's Project International has announced some exciting celebrity charity initiatives.

Stella McCartney's New York store will host a special exhibition by Helena Christensen for Fashion’s Night Out on September 10.

Photography purchased at the event will benefit Chernobyl Children’s Project International. The exhibition is curated by Neil Grayson of The Dactyl Foundation and the photography will be available for purchase through the end of September.

Oksana Grigorieva Visits Chernobyl Survivors With Charity

Oksana Grigorieva was in Belarus last week to visit families affected by the Chernobyl disaster of 1986 with the Chernobyl Children's Project International.

Along with founder Adi Roche, she visited the Vesnova Children’s Asylum, where 150 children with various degrees of intellectual and physical disability live a much improved quality of life through CCPI’s medical and therapeutic care and building program.

Oksana Grigorieva Hosts Charity Party For Chernobyl Children

Mel Gibson's girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva brought together a circle of friends on Thursday evening at a benefit to support Chernobyl Children's Project International's cardiac surgery program.

At the February 11 event at Romanov Restaurant & Lounge in Studio City, Grigorieva performed her charity single, Angel, available on iTunes and through her website at Oksana.fm.

Joined at the benefit by Mel Gibson, Grigorieva asked her friends to support the efforts of the charity to bring hope to children in Chernobyl affected regions of Ukraine and Belarus.

Oksana Grigorieva Films PSA For Chernobyl Victims

Oksana Grigorieva, the Russian/Ukrainian singer who just gave birth to a baby with Mel Gibson, has filmed a video designed to raise awareness about the aftermath of the Chernobyl disaster, and is asking viewers to join her in supporting the Chernobyl Children's Project International.

Today in Ukraine, 6000 children are born with genetic cardiac disease, and only half will get the surgery they need to survive. The others will die. Chernobyl Children’s Project International is sending volunteer cardiac surgery teams to Ukraine and Belarus to perform free operations. Oksana is from that part of the world and she is very passionate about finding a way to help.

“Chernobyl Children’s Project International (CCPI) helps children and families in communities that suffer the consequences of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster of 1986,” says Oksana. "As a mother myself, I really believe that it is important for people — especially children — to look forward to the future with hope, not with fear and dread. Chernobyl Children’s Project International’s calling card is one of hope. They work to interrupt the domino effect of poverty, poor health, and social upheaval that continues to plague so many in the region. They offer solutions and partnerships, not mere charity.

Bono Wants You To Clean Up For Charity

It may seem weird – maybe even unbelievable – but Bono has designed a trash can and wants YOU to buy it for charity.

The unique bin is part of a new auction featuring a range of bins designed by celebrities and raising money for the Food Bank For New York City and the Chernobyl Children's Project International. Joining Bono in designing the receptacles are a range of stars, including REM’s Michael Stipe, celebrity chef Mario Batali, models Helena Christensen and Christy Turlington, actress Mena Suvari, and many more.

The auction is part of a partnership between The Conran Store – an international chain of homeware and furniture stores – and Danish design company VIPP, who were the original designers of the classic pedal trash bin in 1939. The unique celebrity designs will be on display for public viewing and pre-bidding at The Conran Shop in New York (407 East 59th Street) from September 4, culminating in a live auction event on Thursday, September 18, at the Winston Wächter Fine Art Gallery.
