Country music star Trisha Yearwood has recorded her own version of “My Favorite Things” to support Sears' Heroes at Home program.

By going to the Sears’ Heroes website to download the song for free, fans will be drawn to letters written by servicemen and women outlining wishes for their families back home at Christmas.

The letters are personal, modest and touching:

“My wife and I will soon celebrate our first year wedding anniversary even though for most of the time I have been a deployed soldier…”
“…This is going to be the third Christmas that I am not going to be there with my family. Each year my children grow and my family changes and I am not able to give them the things that they look forward to…”
“…and my youngest loves anything with Thomas the Train…”
“…My wife has been my inspiration through every deployment and is my best friend. She has supported me for so many years and I can’t think of a better gift than to make this wish come true.”

Operating like a bridal registry, people can grant the wish of their choice through a donation, and a Sears gift card will be sent to the family who registered the wish.

“My best memories center around time with my family,” says Yearwood. "When I was asked to be part of the Heroes At Home program, which honors not just our troops but their families here at home, I decided to record one of MY favorites. “My Favorite Things” expresses a simple but special concept."

Over 500,000 donations have already been made this year for the program.
