On September 1, 2005, Fats Domino was rescued from the roof of his home in New Orleans. In October, after spending some time in a shelter and apartments in Baton Rouge, he and his family returned to New Orleans to rebuild their home.

Now he has turned his attention to helping rebuild his hometown. Proceeds from his latest album, “Alive and Kickin’” are going to the Tipitina’s Foundation. The album is only available via the Tipitina’s website, where the cd is purchased as a tax deductible donation.
