The Valentino Achak Deng (VAD) Foundation aims to empower war-affected Sudanese populations by helping with educational, social and economic opportunities for the diaspora in the US and those still in southern Sudanese communities.

VAD also aims to improve US policy toward Sudan by educating the public and policy makers on the situation in Sudan.
