Dwight Howard Challenges Fans To Give Back

The NBA’s 2009 NBA Defensive Player of the Year and 4-time winner of the Rich and Helen DeVos Community Enrichment Award, Dwight Howard, recently launched his Dwight Howard Fund with the mission to help at-risk youths around the world, and he is asking for your help.

Howard, who recently made a personal donation of $100,000 to Haiti, is currently running an online fundraising campaign via the DHF to help match his personal contribution. This is where fans are asked to help. Donate $2.99, recruit the most donors, and whoever recruits the most has the opportunity to win a once-in-a-lifetime experience of a $500 Adidas shopping spree with Dwight Howard himself.

It’s simple: sign up, start recruiting and wait to see if you win the shopping spree with Howard.

NBA Veteran Launches March Campaign

NBA veteran player Adonal Foyle and the Kerosene Lamp Foundation (KLF) have launched their ‘March $10K Campaign’ in efforts to raise funding for KLF’s Athletics & Academics Island Camps in Foyle’s country of St. Vincent and The Grenadines.

Foyle, who was recently honored by the NBA with the prestigious Community Contribution Award, chose March for the launch to coincide with his 34th birthday on March 9. The campaign runs through the end of the month and will help make the camps a reality for 1,000 kids in these countries.

“I launched the Athletics & Academics Camps as an avenue through which the Kerosene Lamp Foundation could, in some small way, encourage a child to strive for success in the classroom and beyond,” said Adonal Foyle. “St. Vincent & The Grenadines is a tiny nation, one that is dependent on the potential of the next generation to make it thrive. With these camps, I use basketball to connect with the kids to promote a healthy lifestyle and stress their need to take an active role in their education.”
