Kevin Sorbo and Kate Linder will be at a very special event next month that aims to encourage people to recycle.

The Planet Green Recycle Reuse Rejoice Celebrity Celebration is raising money for several charities and addressing the growing e-waste disposal problem that is threatening the environment. All you have to do is bring along your old electronic waste items – such as ink and toner cartridges, cell phones etc – and you’ll also have the chance to help a group of stars and their charities.

Dodgers Legend To Host Celebrity Charity Fun Festival

A host of celebrities will join Dodgers legend Steve Garvey for his special Celebrity Softball Classic and Family Fun Festival this Saturday.

The star will be joined by Nicollette Sheridan, Pete Rose (who will swing a bat again for the first time in decades), James Denton, Jose Canseco, Tillman the Skateboarding Bulldog, Sophie Monk, Michael Clarke Duncan, Carl Weathers, Greg Finley, Omar Miller, James Van Der Beek, Logan Huffman, Ron Cey, Maury Wills, Todd Zeile, Jay Johnstone Bill Russell, Jimmy Van Patten, Bobby Castillo, Kenny Landreaux, Lee Lacy, Rudy Law, Jerry Reuss, Derrel Thomas and others at the Eddy D. Stadium, Pepperdine University, Malibu, on July 10.

The event will raise money for the ALS Association, an organization that aims to lead the fight to cure and treat ALS through global, cutting-edge research, and to empower people with Lou Gehrig’s Disease and their families to live fuller lives by providing them with compassionate care and support.

No Doubt Clears Out The Vaults For Charity Auction

Now that No Doubt is busy recording their new album, the band has decided to put some costumes and vintage memorabilia to good use by auctioning the items for charity.

The auction will include costumes from No Doubt’s 2009 U.S. tour, instruments they have played on stage and in videos, out of print vinyl, drummer Adrian Young’s old “tuxedo” and other one-of-a-kind items from the No Doubt archives.

Says No Doubt front-woman, Gwen Stefani, “The tour last summer was so amazing, it was exactly what we needed to inspire the new record. Now that we’re in the studio we wanted do something special for the fans who did so much for us. It’ll be really fun to share the costumes – they’re wicked. A lot of the stuff was really hard to part with, but the money we’ll be able to raise, together with the fans, will be worth it. These charities need us, badly. It means a lot to us as a band to be able to support all the hard work they do.”

Kate Linder Celebrity Charity Gala To Hit LA This Week

Emerging Magazine Celebrity Charity Productions will present the 1st Annual Kate Linder Celebrity Charity Gala, benefiting The ALS Association, Greater Los Angeles Chapter on February 11 at the Montage Beverly Hills Hotel from 6 PM to 10 PM.

A silent auction will begin at 6:30 PM and will continue throughout the evening. Dinner with celebrities will begin at 7PM. A product runway will follow dinner where celebrities will walk the runway, showcasing vendor products and services prior to being auctioned live.

Anyone desiring to attend the free live auction only are welcome. Those wishing to have dinner with celebrities may purchase tickets prior to the event or at the door.

As reported last month by LookToTheStars.org, Young and the Restless star Kate Linder has announced she will hold her first annual Celebrity Charity Gala in Hollywood on February 11. She has now announced some of her celebrity friends who will join her.

The event aims to raise funds for the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the ALS Association, and will be attended by Young and the Restless cast members Wilson Bethel [Ryder Callahan], Hayley Erin [Abby Carlton], Stacy Haiduk [Emily Peterson/Patty Williams], Sean Kanan [Deacon Sharpe], Vanessa Marano [Eden], Michelle Stafford [Phyllis Summers Newman], and Yvonne Zima [Daisy]. Other celebrities include Alison Arngrim [Little House on the Prairie], Romi Dames [Hannah Montana], Bruce Davison [Longtime Companion], actress Ilene Graff, actress Q’orianka Kilcher, RJ Mitte [Breaking Bad], actress Lorielle New, Kevin Sorbo [Hercules], comedian Rip Taylor and actress Dee Wallace.

The gala includes a gourmet dinner with the stars, live entertainment and a live auction.

Kate Linder has appeared on The Young and the Restless for 27 years and was named celebrity spokesperson for The ALS Association in early 2005.

Earlier this month, she went to Washington to lobby for more funds to fight ALS – Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis – for the fifth year in a row. In 2006, Linder won the organization’s All-Star Award for her passionate service to the cause and won their Packman Award in 2007. Kate travels around the country to participate in and encourage other volunteers at the ALS Association’s fundraisers, Walk to D’Feet ALS, and in their fundraising dinners for local chapters.
