  <title>Celebrity Charity Event Raises $460,000 For Point Foundation</title>
  <description>Point Foundation (Point), the nation&amp;#8217;s largest scholarship granting organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (&lt;span class="caps"&gt;LGBT&lt;/span&gt;) students of merit, today announced that it raised over $460,000 at its annual Point Honors – New York fundraising gala held at Capitale in New York on April 4, hosted by Kelly Ripa and Sam Champion.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The contributions came from corporate sponsorships, table and ticket sales, as well as items sold during the live auction. An additional $100,000 donation was given to support a Point Named Scholarship.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Iman and Isaac Mizrahi presented the Point Courage Award to Bravo&amp;#8217;s Andy Cohen, which recognizes an individual who has advocated for the future of the &lt;span class="caps"&gt;LGBT&lt;/span&gt; community and lives with the vision that investing in today&amp;#8217;s potential will produce a brighter tomorrow. Cohen, who thanked his mother for her continued encouragement and support, said, &amp;#8220;It is the Point scholars who are the real courageous ones.&amp;#8221;

  <title>Cherry Jones To Be Honored At Awards</title>
  <description>Point Foundation, the nation&amp;#8217;s largest scholarship-granting organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (&lt;span class="caps"&gt;LGBT&lt;/span&gt;) students of merit, has announced the recipients of its Courage and Inspiration Awards.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Two-time Tony Award winner (The Heiress, Doubt) and current Emmy nominee (24) Cherry Jones will receive the Point Courage Award; Motorola will receive the Point Inspiration Award. The awards will be presented at Point&amp;#8217;s annual Los Angeles benefit, Point Honors, which will be held on September 26, 2009 at the Hollywood Renaissance Hotel in Los Angeles.
