Stars Donate Photos To City Hearts Event

City Hearts: Kids Say Yes to the Arts is proud to present a special event featuring Photography, Food and Three Chefs on October 20.

The event will give you the chance to bid on “anonymous” photography – you won’t know until after you have made the purchase whether the artwork is the work of a City Heart student or a renowned photographer. Among those who have donated photos are Jeff Bridges, Max Adler and Jane Seymour.

There will also be exquisite hors d’ouevres and desserts by three local chefs – Larry Cohn of The Canyon Bistro, Jeff Kramer of Topanga Catering Company, and Sam Elias of Sam’s by the Beach.

Glee's Max Adler To Attend A Day Of Enchantment

Southern California’s preeminent Arts education organization, City Hearts: Kids Say Yes to the Arts presents “A Day of Enchantment” featuring The 3rd Annual Shakespeare Challenge, Recital and Photography Exhibit on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at The Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum in Topanga, from 10am to 3 pm.

Glee star Max Adler will be special guest for the event. Recently named official International Spokesperson for City Hearts, he began the year by initiating the The Max’s ABC: Anti-Bullying through City Hearts Initiative, raising over $20,000 through an e-Campaign and a matching grant of $5,000 from the Frieda.C.Fox Foundation. Winners of the draw for “Lunch with Max” will attend the event. Max was also the winner of the Community TechKnowledge’s “Vote for a Hero” competition and a representative from the foundation will be present to award Max the check.

This is a free community event showcasing the work of over 200 students from Los Angeles’ inner city communities who have participated in City Hearts’ Arts programming in Shakespeare, Dance and Photography. Students will kick off the day competing in the Shakespeare Challenge, performing scenes and monologues in front of a panel of judges and attending audience members. The afternoon’s activities will feature student recitals and a photography exhibition.

Glee Bully Wants Charity Cash By Valentine's Day

Glee’s campus jock and closeted gay bully Dave Karofsky – played by Max Adler, International Spokesperson for City Hearts: Kids Say Yes to the Arts – has inspired his global Twitter following to donate more than $7,000 to an e-campaign for his new “Max’s ABC: Anti-Bullying through City Hearts” program in just the past 3 weeks. Now, his goal is to double that amount to $14,000 by Valentine’s Day, the 14th of February, in order to fund his Anti-Bullying program at one City Hearts site for the rest of this year.

To do so, Adler is reaching out to his 73,000+ Twitter followers and 2,400+ Facebook friends to “Share the Love” and enter his Valentine’s “Lunch with Max” drawing by donating $7 or more before midnight (PST) on Feb. 14, Valentine’s Day. He is also unveiling Max’s ABC T Shirt with the slogan, “Be Brave Enough to Be Kind” (abbreviated as “bb2bk”) on the back, which will go on sale later this month at www.cityhearts.org.

Glee Bully Inspires Fans To Donate To Anti-Bullying Campaign

In honor of the 27th Anniversary of Los Angeles-based City Hearts: Kids Say Yes to the Arts, Max Adler, who plays closeted gay bully Dave Karofsky on “Glee,” has already managed to inspire fans from around the world to donate more than $6,000 in a matter of days.

A former high school glee-club member himself, and a devoted advocate of the rights of all children to have a bully-free childhood and City Hearts' new International Spokesperson, Adler came up with the idea to create Max’s ABC: Anti-Bullying through City Hearts and to do this e-fundraiser after less than four months as spokesperson.

Twilight Star To Attend Harvest And Crush Event To Honor Charity

The stars will be out in Malibu, California, on Sunday for charity.

The 10th Annual Harvest and Crush Event is an exclusive and exquisite event held on the Semler’s private 1,000 acre estate and features fine wine, signature dishes from local restaurants, luxury auctions, foot spa, and a special tribute from “25 Artists Creating 25 Heart-themed Pieces to Celebrate 25 Years of City Hearts”.

There will be wonderful activities for children, including the Fairy Enchantment area, Culinary Interactive Arts, the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, special appearances by William Shakespeare and Queen Elizabeth I, and the City Hearts students. And this year, in honor of City Hearts Silver Anniversary, Tesla Motors will be on hand with their luxury electric Roadster and donating “24-Hours with the Roadster”.
