Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks and Twilight/Red Riding Hood director Catherine Hardwicke will be honored by the Step Up Women’s Network at the 8th annual Inspiration Awards on June 10.

Held annually in the heart of the entertainment industry, Inspiration Awards gathers Los Angeles’ movers and shakers to honor those who embody the Step Up mission of service to women and girls. Step Up’s most anticipated afternoon of the year, the event includes a red carpet reception, luncheon, luxury handbag silent auction, and an awards program honoring a celebrity, industry executive, and corporate honoree who have provided opportunities for women and girls to create a better future.

The host committee for the event includes Aisha Tyler, Aimee Garcia, Elisabeth Rohm, Kelly Rutherford and many more.

The Step Up Women’s Network will hold its 7th annual Inspiration Awards today, honoring Jennie Garth, Creative Artists Agency’s Sonya Rosenfeld and WE tv’s Kim Martin.

The Step Up Women’s Network is to honor Desperate Housewives’ Marcia Cross at their 6th Annual Inspiration Awards.

Every year the organization – which is dedicated to strengthening community resources for women and girls through hands-on community service, mentoring, and fundraising for women’s health and critical issues – rolls out the orange carpet and hosts an awards gala that honors people who embody the spirit of Step Up through their philanthropic impact in the lives of women and girls.

Joining Marcia Cross in receiving honors this year are journalist Lisa Ling and the president of the NBC Universal Women and Lifestyle Networks, Lauren Zalaznick. Awards will be presented by Tori Spelling, Constance Ramos and Diana Nyad.

Teen stars Miley Cyrus and Vanessa Hudgens have designed T-shirts for a charity lifestyle brand.

Launched in 2003, 2 LOVE is an initiative that endorses “a message of love while benefiting charities that elevate lives through a range of celebrity-designed products. The company inspires young women to love themselves, and in turn spread the love to others. Their unique marketing initiative – designed to empower women and promote philanthropy – has struck a chord among Hollywood’s A-listers, who have signed on in droves to join the 2 LOVE mission”.

Those A-listers include Monique Coleman, Alyssa Milano, Ashanti, Molly Sims, Mischa Barton, Jessica Alba, Brittany Murphy, Mariska Hargitay, Alison Sweeney, Mena Suvari, and Michelle Branch, all of whom have designed products to raise money for charities such as Best Buddies International, the 1736 Family Crisis Center, UNICEF, the Starlight Children’s Foundation, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Joyful Hearts, Step Up, and more.

The Hollywood Cookbook Launch Party

Stars and food converged at Kitchen Academy in Hollywood last night for a party launching The Hollywood Cookbook — a beautiful 271-page hardcover collection of sumptuous recipes, each accompanied by a large photo, from the personal kitchens of 20 celebrities and 6 world-class chefs. Five dollars from each purchase benefits 20 important charities dear to the hearts of the celebrity contributors.

The cookbook covers the spectrum of food and beverage, from appetizers, soups and salads, to main courses, desserts, and even cocktails. Michael J. Fox’s Barn Dance Chicken, and Jane Kaczmarek and Bradley Whitford’s Savory Fall Stew are just two of the 107 creative and simple dishes that can be duplicated in any kitchen regardless of culinary skill level. Chefs Wolfgang Puck, Mario Batali, Joachim Splichal, Nick Stellino, Michael Cimarusti and Rocco DiSpirito also contributed recipes to the book.

At the event, the students of Kitchen Academy prepared and served 20 recipes featured in the cookbook, each one tastier than the last. This reporter’s favorite: Door Knob Sweet Potato Balls (an appetizer) from designer Paige Hemmis of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Yum!
