Avicii Hits America With House For Hunger Charity Tour

Rising Swedish DJ, remixer, and producer Avicii and At Night Management announced today the official dates for their one million dollar House For Hunger January 2012 Tour. Kevin Bacon And Lindsay Lohan Help Raise Awareness For Hunger Organizations

Kevin Bacon and John Stamos are asking their fans to make donations to Bread for the World, one of their favorite hunger organizations. The request is part of a holiday hunger fundraising campaign organized by Bacon’s charitable initiative, SixDegrees.org, in partnership with Network for Good.

“I woke up this morning and had a good meal, but millions of people didn’t,” said Bacon. “We at SixDegrees.org are excited to promote ‘6 Days of Good for Hunger’ to bring attention to the cause and inspire giving, especially this time of year.”

Newman's Own Gives $300 Million To Charity

Earlier this week, during its “Over the Moon Celebration,” Paul Newman’s Newman’s Own brand announced that it surpassed over $300 million in charitable giving.

To cross the milestone, and in the company of dedicated individuals and organizations that made it possible, Newman’s Own Foundation awarded $1.4 million in grants. The evening’s reception was co-chaired by Joanne Woodward Newman and Clea Newman Soderlund, Paul Newman and Joanne’s youngest daughter.

“When people would thank Paul for his charitable giving, he would always reply that he didn’t think he was doing anything special,” said Robert Forrester, president of Newman’s Own Foundation. “He believed that the real thanks should go to those people and organizations… who work every day to make ours and the future’s a better world. Stars Huddle To Fight Hunger

NFL Quarterback Joe Montana, sports broadcaster Erin Andrews and celebrity chefs Pat and Gina Neely have joined together for Feeding America’s Huddle to Fight Hunger program.

Kraft Foods’ Huddle to Fight Hunger program is designed to reach the goal of giving away 20 million meals to Feeding America. The program runs from August 22nd 2010, through January 9th, 2011 and encompasses many ways for consumers to get involved. For all components of the program, the monetary equivalent of meals will be donated by Kraft Foods. $1 donated = 7 meals secured by Feeding America on behalf of local food banks.

The program is setting a goal of 20 million meals. Except for a few of the elements listed above, Kraft Foods is not capping the donation nor guaranteeing the donation of 20 million meals.

OneRepublic Helps Fight Hunger With Vanity

National fashion retailer Vanity is partnering with pop band OneRepublic to help fight hunger with a promotion that will benefit Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger relief organization.

The “Share the Secret About Hunger” campaign aims to raise awareness about food insecurity incurred by 49 million Americans everyday at a national level as well as provide hunger relief for people in communities across the country.

From September 7 through October 16, Vanity will be collecting non-perishable food donations in all of its stores, which will be distributed to local food banks that partner with Feeding America. Vanity, in association with Interscope Records, also will be selling exclusive OneRepublic “Waking Up” CDs, and offering chances to win prizes in-store and online. Vanity will donate all of the proceeds from CD sales to Feeding America. Every CD sold will help to provide approximately 21 meals for those in need.

Idol Gives Back rocked television sets across the US last night to raise funds for charity, with a show that saw performances by Elton John and Alicia Keys, as well as the departure of another contestant.

American Idol contestant Tim Urban was voted off the special edition of the show that has already raised more than $15 million for charities such as the Children’s Health Fund, Feeding America, Save the Children, the United Nations Foundation and Malaria No More.

Rebecca Romijn's Got Milk For Charity

Actress Rebecca Romijn is the latest star to feature in Got Milk? adverts to raise money for charity.

The star will feature in print adverts in Us Weekly and People magazines from this friday, sporting a milk mustache and holding her twin daughters. The campaign aims to give away more than three million servings of milk to help raise awareness of the importance of milk in building strong families.

The “Great Gallon To Give” campaign also allows people to donate a virtual gallon of milk to those in need via Facebook. For every virtual gallon, the Milk Processor Education Program (MilkPEP) will donate $1 to Feeding America.
