NCCRA Celebrity Supporters & Events
he National Colorectal Cancer Research Alliance (NCCRA), a program of the Entertainment Industry Foundation, is dedicated to the eradication of colorectal cancer by promoting the importance of early medical screening and funding research to develop better tests, treatments, and ultimately a cure.
Every penny raised by NCCRA is spent on public education and medical research, supporting some of the most advanced medical research in the field today. Thanks to its donors and sponsors, NCCRA has raised more than $23 million dollars for colon cancer research and awareness.
NCCRA was founded by NBC TODAY show co-anchor Katie Couric, cancer activist Lilly Tartikoff, and the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF). Ms. Couric’s husband, MSNBC legal analyst Jay Monahan, died of colorectal cancer at age 42. Ms. Tartikoff’s husband, former NBC President Brandon Tartikoff, died of cancer at age 49.
