  <title>Tiger Woods To Host Chevron Golf Tournament</title>
  <description>The Chevron World Challenge celebrates its 10th year by once again bringing golf&amp;#8217;s finest stars to Southern California. This year&amp;#8217;s tournament will be played at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, CA, from December 15 – 21 on a course designed by famed architect and professional golfer Jack Nicklaus.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Tournament host Tiger Woods will lead a field of 16 elite &lt;span class="caps"&gt;PGA&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="caps"&gt;TOUR&lt;/span&gt; players including the top 11 available from the Official World Golf Rankings, the Defending Champion, and four special exemption players selected by the Tiger Woods Foundation. The players will be competing for a $5.75 million prize purse in which the winner receives $1.35 million, and the 16th place finisher	receives $170,000.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The tournament will help raise money for programs of the Tiger Woods Foundation, including the Tiger Woods Learning Center in Orange County. Programs developed and supported by the Tiger Woods Foundation all share a similar mission of empowering young people to dream big and to set specific goals to achieve their dreams.

&lt;p&gt;The opening ceremony will include performances by the U.S. Air Force Ceremonial Brass Quintet, the Joint Honor Guard representing the five branches of the military.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;#8220;I wanted this year&amp;#8217;s ceremony to honor the men and women who serve in our military and their families,&amp;#8221; Tiger Woods said. &amp;#8220;I grew up in a military household, which gave me an understanding of the sacrifices these soldiers and their families make for all of us. &lt;p&gt;At seven AM on Friday morning Amritraj hosted his 2nd Annual Celebrity Charity Golf Classic. Among the celebs to support the golf event were Golden Globe Winner Elke Sommer, &lt;em&gt;Wonder Woman&lt;/em&gt; movie star Cathy Lee Crosby, James Sikking (Hill Street Blues/Doogie Howser), former soap star Tom Hallick and it was quite a big deal when two of the game show models from the hit Deal or No Deal hit the course at Simi Valley&amp;#8217;s Lost Canyons Golf Club.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The day of efforts to raise money included raffles, silent and live auction items. Among the silent auction items included tickets donated by the Tiger Woods Foundation to the Masters champion play.
