Ultimate Bad Guy Does Good At Children's Hospital

Actor/producer/director Scott L. Schwartz recently worked on his next film in Cincinnati, OH. While Scott was in town he visited the children at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, as well as The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Cincinnati, on behalf of the Scott L. Schwartz Children’s Foundation.

Scott L. Schwartz is widely known as the “Ultimate Bad Guy” from his acting career including: Ocean’s 11, 12 & 13, Starsky & Hutch, Spiderman, Fun With Dick And Jane, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Star Trek Voyager, among other feature films. Scott L. Schwartz has been visiting children’s hospitals worldwide for the past 12 years after losing his sister to lung cancer in 1998. He realizes the value and impact of making a lasting impression on children with cancer and how important it is to make each child feel special. Scott enjoys visiting pediatric hospitals and bringing what joy he can into the lives of every child he visits. They are always smiling during his visits and usually begging him to return soon.

William Fichtner Wins Celebrity Charity Race

William Fichtner was the winner of Saturday’s 35th annual Toyota Pro/Celebrity Charity Race through the streets of Long Beach, California.

The race wasn’t without its high speed dramas, with Stephen Moyer flipping his car on Friday, and last year’s winner – Brian Austin Green – only managing to cross the line in eighth place. Other participants included Kevin Jonas and Djimon Hounsou.

On behalf of each celebrity racer, Toyota donates $5,000 to Racing for Kids every year and another $5,000 to the winning racer’s charity of choice. Racing for Kids, a national nonprofit program benefiting children’s hospitals throughout the country, (in this case, Miller Children’s Hospital in Long Beach and Children’s Hospital in Orange County, Calif.), was created as a way to connect sick children with their favorite celebrities and race-car drivers. Toyota has donated more than $1.9 million to various children’s hospitals since 1991, on behalf of this race and its participants.

Eva Longoria is an Honorary Chair for Padres Contra el Cancer’s 4th Annual Stand for HOPE! 5K Charity Run/Walk on Saturday, February 26.

Padres Contra el Cancer serves to raise money to continue providing benefits to families whose children are undergoing treatment for cancer at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Children’s Hospital Orange County, UCLA,Mattel’s Children’s Hospital, USC Women and Childrens Hospital and other Southern California pediatric cancer centers. More than 1,000 individuals are expected to take part in the 5K Run/Walk. Participants will include pediatric cancer patients; their families; CHLA doctors and nurses; PADRES Contra El Cáncer Directors, Staff & Volunteers; and special celebrity guests. The Run/Walk will conclude with an awards presentation.

Also expected to attend are Los Angeles Angels pitcher Ervin Santana, Beto Cuevas (musician), Cristian de la Fuente (actor), Amaury Nolasco (actor), Angelica Castro (actor), Yancey Arias (actor), Francisco Pinto (news anchor), Oskar Cartaya (musician) and Keven Ramirez (radio host), Josie Oren (actor), Enrique Gutierrez (sports anchor) and Enrique Castillo (actor).

Actor/Producer/Director Scott L. Schwartz recently accepted the honor of becoming a board member for Reading, Writing, It’s Exciting!, a nonprofit literacy program in Los Angeles for children who need the most help with writing and reading between the ages of 5-7years old.

Scott is aware of the importance of programs like these. He acknowledges the children of today as America’s future and wants to do his part in participating in this program. Scott would like to congratulate and praise Stephen Kogon for starting this program.

Name That Celebrity Cupcake For Charity

AB Weddings & Special Events and Coast Anabelle Hotel have agreed to host the premiere of Name That Celebrity Cupcake on Saturday November 20, 2010 (2-4pm).

Celebrity Cupcakes is a non-profit series of charity events that was created by actor/director/humanitarian Scott L. Schwartz (Ocean’s 11, 12, 13, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Changing Hands, Starsky & Hutch, etc…). Each event will consist of celebrities from all over the world. Celebrities are invited to stop in and “name” their favorite cupcake or have the bakery to design a custom one for them…

Each event will include a variety of bakeries that will create an assortment of cupcakes such as regular, organic and sugar free cupcakes for diabetics.

Celebrities Gather For Teen Cancer Prom

Last night CHOC Children’s Hospital held their Oncology Prom, which provides CHOC’s teen cancer patients (ages 14-19) with the opportunity to experience this teenage rite of passage in a safe environment with peers and care givers. Many of these teens have missed or will miss their own high school proms due to their illness, so this night is very special to them.

David Beckham Joins Shakira At Children's Hospital

David Beckham, Shakira, Kellie Pickler and Ryan Seacrest were some of the stars who visited the Children’s Hospital of Orange County for Lollipop Live ’09 on Tuesday.

The celebrities signed autographs, posed for photos and handed out stuffed animals to the patients as part of the fundraiser sponsored by local radio station KIIS FM.

Seacrest broadcast live from CHOC and asked listeners to text in $5 donations in support of Radio Lollipop. Last year, the event raised about $30,000 for the program, which allows patients to go on air and request songs.

These are just three of the amazing lots up for bid in the MasterCard Priceless Moments Auction on eBay. The auction was brought about by Nelson Mandela and Bill Clinton after both leaders visited the Walter Sisulu Paediatric Cardiac Centre for Africa in Johannesburg, South Africa, where children with cardiac problems from all over the continent are treated. They hope to intensify the vision of Mandela’s late friend and mentor, Mr. Walter Sisulu, to care for and nurture the children of South Africa.

Seven charities will benefit from the auction, with the funds going to provide safe havens and hope for thousands of African children. The charities include the Walter Sisulu Paediatric Cardiac Centre for Africa, the Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa (CHOC), the South African Red Cross, Cotlands, Reach For A Dream Foundation, Ithemba Trust and St. Mary’s Hospital.
