On June 21, Fran Drescher, star of television series The Nanny and author of Cancer Schmancer, announced the national launch of the Cancer Schmancer Movement. This day also marked her own anniversary of seven years of wellness. A survivor of uterine cancer due to early detection, Drescher’s goal is to realize a world where “no woman will die from cancer as a result of late stage diagnosis.” She wants “to ensure that all women’s cancers are diagnosed in Stage 1, when they are most curable.”
