Arnold Palmer And Drew Carey To Be Honored At Charity Gala

Tony Martell, Founder and Chairman of the TJ Martell Foundation for Leukemia, Cancer and AIDS Research, is proud to announce the honorees for the 36th Annual Awards Gala, which will take place on Thursday, November 3rd at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square.

“There can be no question that these are four of the most illustrious honorees on the planet,” says Mr. Martell. “They care. They are true humanitarians, every one of them. They are honoring us by permitting us to honor them. On behalf of those fighting cancer today and those who undoubtedly will in the future, we are most grateful.”

Golf legend and philanthropist Arnold Palmer will receive the Lifetime Philanthropic Award. For nearly a half century, Mr. Palmer has been one of the best-known sportsmen and businessmen in the world. In just over two decades, the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children has risen from a community hospital serving Central Florida to an internationally-known health care institution, now ranked as one of the country’s “Best Children’s Hospitals” by U.S. News & World Report. Thanks in part to Martell support, these clinicians are increasingly joining forces with researchers around the country and in Orlando to perform research and develop innovative cancer treatments and protocols.

Ray Romano Returns For Annual Charity Night Of Comedy

Hollywood’s favorite comedians will once again come together for the Ninth Annual Night of Comedy benefitting the Children Affected by AIDS Foundation (CAAF). The event will be hosted by Doris Roberts, and will see event regular Ray Romano hit the stage with a variety of comedy friends.

The event will feature performances by Bryan Callen, Kevin Nealon, Garry Shandling and Fred Willard. Past performers include Wayne Brady, Drew Carey, Dane Cook, Kathy Griffin, Kevin James, George Lopez, Chris Rock, Bob Saget, Sarah Silverman and David Spade. The event is considered one of the best annual charity comedy shows in the US.

Proceeds benefit the Children Affected by AIDS Foundation, the only organization solely devoted to providing social, educational, recreational, and other critical support programs to vulnerable children impacted by HIV/AIDS in the United States and in other countries.

Jamie Lee Curtis To Celebrate A Dream Halloween For Charity

The Children Affected by AIDS Foundation will hold its annual Dream Halloween event in LA this week, and Jamie Lee Curtis will be there to celebrate.

The 16th annual event will be held at the Santa Monica Air Center on October 24, and will feature a whole bunch of your favorite stars – including Jason Priestley, Doris Roberts and Melina Kanakaredes – in weird, whacky, and hopefully scary costumes as they celebrate the season to be frightened.

There will also be a special auction, featuring shoes worn by Candice Wiggins of the Minnesota Lynx and much more.

With nearly 3 million children currently living with AIDS and 500,000 children born with HIV each year, it’s events like this that really need our support. The Children Affected by AIDS Foundation (CAFF) is the only foundation that addresses the needs of both children affected by HIV and AIDS in the United States and 14 countries in the Latin American/Caribbean region. They offer support for a variety of programs including shelter, food, telephones, respite care and long-term emotional support. In 2008, CAFF assisted more than 35,000 children. The Children Affected by AIDS Foundation will be holding its 15th annual Dream Halloween event in Los Angeles on Saturday, October 25. The party follows two similar fundraising events in Chicago and New York last week, and will feature a whole bunch of your favorite stars in weird, whacky, and hopefully scary costumes as they celebrate the season to be frightened.

Hosted by Jamie Lee Curtis, the event will honor Jada Pinkett Smith and Willow Smith, and is being chaired by Wilmer Valderrama, Jason Priestley, Melina Kanakaredes, and Doris Roberts.
