Justin Timberlake is in Las Vegas for the annual Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, Sept. 25-Oct. 2, 2011 at TPC Summerlin.

As part of tournament week, Timberlake hosts an annual concert benefiting Shriners Hospitals for Children. This year’s concert is Saturday, Oct 1 at The Theatre for the Performing Arts at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

This year’s concert theme is “Old School Jam,” with artists who have influenced Timberlake. The concert line-up features Earth, Wind & Fire, Charlie Wilson, Vanilla Ice, the Commodores, the Sugar Hill Gang, Sister Sledge, Turbo B and Color Me Badd. Comedian Wayne Brady will co-host the event with Timberlake.

Wyclef Jean, co-founder of the Yéle Haiti Foundation, welcomed three young Haitian amputees on their trip to get urgently needed artificial limbs this weekend at JFK airport in NYC.

Yéle Haiti, working with the Global Medical Relief Fund (GMRF), has provided eight round-trip tickets between Port-au-Prince and the GMRF’s headquarters in Staten Island, N.Y. The group will then travel to Philadelphia this week where the three patients will be treated at Shriners Hospitals for Children, which will be providing the care for free.

As the recovery efforts in Haiti continue, Wyclef Jean, co-founder of the Yéle Haiti Foundation, will be at JFK Airport tonight (April 22) at 6:10pm to welcome three young Haitian amputees on their trip to get urgently needed artificial limbs.

Yéle Haiti, working with the Global Medical Relief Fund (GMRF), provided eight round-trip tickets—which includes tickets for GMRF staff and the patients’ relatives—between Port-au-Prince and the GMRF’s headquarters in Staten Island, N.Y. Margarette Pierre, 17, lost her arm to above her elbow in the Jan. 12 earthquake; Chantal Mori, also 17, lost her arm; and Farah Maurice, 8, lost her leg above her knee. They will all be traveling under the auspices of the U.S. State Department with “humanitarian parole” papers.

Justin Timberlake has been named celebrity charity earner of the year, outstripping favorites such as Bono and Oprah.

According to website The Daily Beast, the SexyBack singer raised $9.3 million for the Shriners Hospitals for Children in 2009. Second place went to Madonna, who raised $5.5 million for Raising Malawi, followed by Pamela Anderson ($4.8 million for PETA), Oprah ($4 million for Oprah’s Angel Network), and Bono ($3.5 for the ONE Campaign).

Justin Timberlake wrapped his annual charity golf tournament with a dazzling concert on Saturday night that featured Taylor Swift, Snoop Dogg, Ciara, Alicia Keys and a reformed TLC.

The concert – held at the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas and benefiting Shriners Hospitals for Children – marks the second year that Timberlake has gathered his friends for a charity performance. Last year’s show featured the Jonas Brothers, Rihanna, will.i.am, Maroon 5, 50 Cent, Boyz II Men, Esmee Denters, and Leona Lewis.

“There were a lot of acts this year that weren’t able to get here till today, so there weren’t as many collabs as I had in my brain,” Timberlake told MTV News during rehearsals. “But I think that’s always the case, it’s kind of like [when] you do an album and you write, like, 40 songs, and then 12 of them make it. … But still, just having everyone out and getting to see them do their set — there are a couple of things that have never been performed onstage. There’s a new song from [Timbaland] tonight, from his record that we did together. I think Snoop’s doing a new song from his new record. So it’s kinda cool for them too, because it’s like perfect test marketing.”

TLC To Reform For Charity Gig

R&B group TLC is to reform for a special benefit show hosted by Justin Timberlake.

The trio disbanded following the death of Lisa Lopes in 2002. The remaining members of the group, Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, later worked on a reality show called “R U the Girl?” that sought a third member of the group, but have never officially performed under the name TLC again.

Timberlake’s concert, which benefits Shriners Hospitals for Children, will take place on October 17 in Las Vegas and will also feature Alicia Keys, Ciara and Taylor Swift. The concert will take place alongside a weeklong golf tournament, the 2009 Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, which will take place from October 12-18.

These are the words of the brave young Spencer that I interviewed briefly before he prepared for his musical performance. Tonight he would be singing with some of his other friends from Shane’s Club Children’s Choir. I asked him for a preview of the song from the musical, Wicked, that they were to perform later that night but was denied so I would pay special attention for his important stage entrance.

As Justin Timberlake’s Shriners Hospitals for Children Golf Open inches closer, some top golfers have pledged their involvement.

David Duval, Rory Sabbatini, and Jesper Parnevik have all been confirmed to play, and the Prince of Pop is thrilled with the lineup so far.

“For me, golf is one of those things where you go out and forget about everything else… I remember I hit one amazing shot off the tee, straight down the middle,” he said. “I got to thinking, ‘Maybe I could play this game.’ I’m self-taught. I’d watch Tiger and Ernie Els on TV and try to learn from what they did, but obviously I related music to it. The golf swing is very, very rhythmic. There’s a certain tempo to it, just in like in music.”

Justin Timberlake, Miley Cyrus and Charlize Theron were some of the stars who appeared at the fifth annual Fashion Rocks concert celebrating the relationship between music and fashion last Friday.

Proceeds from the show – which was televised on CBS on Tuesday night – went to Stand Up To Cancer, which held its own star-studded telethon on the same evening. The Fashion Rocks show included a performance of more than a dozen divas — including Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Natasha Bedingfield, Fergie, Rihanna and Cyrus — who sung their new charity song Just Stand Up, which was beamed live to the Stand Up To Cancer television extravaganza.

“This is the first time we’re all together singing the song,” said Bedingfield. “It was really special. It was really like a sisterhood, like a bond… We’re all used to being the stars — the only star in the room — and it was really nice I think that everyone could just come together and really support each other.”

The PGA Tour has named four-time Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter Justin Timberlake as the 14th celebrity to ‘host’ a PGA Tour event. Renamed the ‘Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open’, the event takes place at TPC Summerlin on October 13-19, 2008, in Las Vegas, and will be televised on the Golf Channel. In addition to hosting, Timberlake will also take part in Wednesday’s Pro-Am, and hold a concert during the week of the Open.

“I couldn’t be more excited to host the upcoming 2008 Las Vegas tournament and to be involved with the Shriners Hospitals for Children,” said Timberlake. “We will make sure to make this event unique and memorable, and we will raise money for charity while participating in the greatest game ever played.
