Singer-songwriter Graham Nash is making his 1970s song, “Our House,” available for purchase in support of Habitat For Humanity.

All proceeds from the sale of “Our House” on iTunes through January 2012 will help Habitat’s rebuilding efforts in Haiti.

“We have to share our good fortunes with those who don’t have any,” said Nash of his support for Habitat’s work in Haiti. “We need to share the love.”

Garth Brooks Builds Houses For Haiti

Country music stars Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood were in Haiti with Habitat For Humanity last week, where they were among the 500 volunteers who helped to build 100 homes in partnership with families affected by the 2010 earthquake.

Rob Lowe Unveils Celebrity Charity Handprint Auction

Rob Lowe has joined Valspar Paint and Habitat for Humanity International in unveiling Valspar Hands for Habitat, an initiative to auction the handprints of celebrities and notable personalities to benefit Habitat for Humanity’s relief efforts in Haiti.

Habitat has set a goal to serve 50,000 families impacted by Haiti’s 2010 earthquake, helping move them toward safe, secure and permanent housing. Those donating to the auction created their handprints using Valspar paint.

Teen Stars To Join Habitat For Humanity Youth Build

Teen stars from television, film and music will join young people from across North Los Angeles on Saturday, June 18 to help build homes for low-income working families as part of Habitat For Humanity San Fernando/Santa Clarita Valleys’ Youth Build.

The event is being chaired by young television and film stars Doug Brochu (Disney’s “So Random” formerly “Sunny with a Chance”) and Chris Brochu, star of the recent theatrical release “Soul Surfer” and the Disney movie “Lemonade Mouth.” Other young celebrities scheduled to take part include Nolan Gould and Ariel Winter from “Modern Family,” Ty Panitz (“Bones”) and his younger brother Parris Mosteller who plays Stinky on the summer kids movie “Judy Moody & the Not Bummer Summer” and Hayley Pullos from “General Hospital,” to name just a few.

In addition to helping build 10 homes, the volunteers will also create a new neighborhood playground and participate in a home dedication ceremony when 14 families receive the keys to their new homes. Participation in Youth Build is limited to 300 teens. Registration is $25 and participants are asking their friends and family to sponsor them with additional donations. All the money raised will be used to build a Youth United home at the Pacoima site.

New York City based radio personality Trey Morgan will embark on a journey designed to shock him into a more philanthropic way of life. This week, Capitol Hill lawmakers hobnobbed with poker stars and took part in a charity poker tournament in Washington DC to benefit Ante Up For Africa.

Organized by the Poker Players Alliance and poker siblings Annie Duke and Howard “The Professor” Lederer, the event raised a total of $70,000, with Full Tilt Poker donating a $10 000 seat at this year’s World Series of Poker main event as the big prize.

It has been a busy few weeks for Ricky Martin – last Monday he presented government officials in Puerto Rico a study on human trafficking, and now he is fronting a campaign to help victims of the Haitian earthquake.

The She Bangs singer returned to his native country of Puerto Rico last week to urge the government to act on the human trafficking problem. He presented officials with a study carried out by his Ricky Martin Foundation that pinpoints the country as having a major role in the illegal sex and kidnapping trade.

“This is happening on our island,” he said. “We cannot turn our back on the victims.”

In partnership with the United Nations Foundation, Habitat For Humanity and the Dave Matthews Band’s Bama Works Fund Haitian relief effort, Music for Relief is working to provide immediate aid with food, water, and emergency medical supplies, and long-term sustainable housing solutions for the people affected by the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that hit Haiti on January 12th at 4:53pm.

To help, people can download a mixtape of nine original songs by Linkin Park, Slash, Alanis Morissette, Peter Gabriel, Hoobastank, The All-American Rejects, and Enrique Iglesias. There is no set price for the album. However, donate what you can and donate generously as this catastrophic natural disaster requires that the world step up to help.

Music for Relief is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing aid to victims of natural disasters and the prevention of such disasters. Since its inception in 2005, Music for Relief has raised over $3 million for victims of multiple disasters across four continents and planted over 810,000 trees to help reduce global warming. Music for Relief was found by the band Linkin Park.

Trisha Yearwood Builds Homes On Mother's Day

For the fourth time, Trisha Yearwood has signed on to Habitat For Humanity and set out to build homes for the homeless.

Encouraged and motivated from her previous Habitat experiences building walls in New Orleans, protective structures in Mississippi and putting up siding in California, she gathered her mother, sister and niece together to spend Mother’s Day building in Georgia for National Women Build Week, the 10-year-old project of Habitat For Humanity.

The week of May 2 to 10 saw 200 crews of women building in Oklahoma and Atlanta. Habitat For Humanity has built over 300,000 homes in America over the past 30 years, and women have provided the muscle for about 1,400 of them.
