Country music superstar Tim McGraw will be saluting veterans in a big way while on tour this summer as he is giving away 25 mortgage-free houses — one for each stop on his upcoming “Brothers of the Sun” tour with Kenny Chesney — to wounded or needy service members.

Operation Homefront, the non-profit that provides emergency financial and other assistance to military families and Wounded Warriors, has announced that with this month’s release of “CD for the Troops V,” the series of albums will have been provided to 1 million service members, veterans, and military families.

John Ondrasik, the recording artist behind the pop-rock sensation Five For Fighting, has been offering Americans support and inspiration for more than 10 years. His song, Superman (It’s Not Easy) became an anthem after the 9/11 attacks, and was performed at The Concert for New York City in late 2001, and then added to the charity album Live in the X Lounge IV.
