  <title>LTTS Exclusive: Celebrities And Surfers Support Charity At Waterman’s Ball</title>
  <description>On Saturday, August 12, at the Ritz-Carlton in Laguna Nigel, the Surf Industry Manufacturers Association (&lt;span class="caps"&gt;SIMA&lt;/span&gt;) honored three surf-industry legends for their work in and out of the water during the Waterman&amp;#8217;s Ball to benefit the &lt;span class="caps"&gt;SIMA&lt;/span&gt; Environmental Fund.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Now in its 22nd year, the event attracted numerous celebrities including Pamela Anderson &amp;#8211; with boyfriend, pro-surfer Jon Rose, Nia Peeples, Perry Farrell (Jane&amp;#8217;s Addiction) and emcee Sal Masekela.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Honored at the event were: Big wave surfing champion Greg Long as &amp;#8216;Waterman of the Year&amp;#8217;; Former Malibu mayor and environmental stalwart Jefferson &amp;#8220;Zuma Jay&amp;#8221; Wagner as &amp;#8216;Environmentalist of the Year&amp;#8217;, and Hawaiian big wave pioneer and legendary shaper George Downing was honored with the &amp;#8216;2011 Lifetime Achievement Award&amp;#8217;.

  <title>Surfing Legends To Be Honored At Environmental Charity Event</title>
  <description>The Surf Industry Manufacturers Association (&lt;span class="caps"&gt;SIMA&lt;/span&gt;) will honor big wave surfing champion Greg Long as Waterman of the Year, former Malibu mayor and environmental stalwart Jefferson &amp;#8220;Zuma Jay&amp;#8221; Wagner as Environmentalist of the Year, and Hawaiian big wave pioneer and legendary shaper George Downing with the 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award, as part of the association&amp;#8217;s annual Waterman&amp;#8217;s Weekend environmental fundraiser.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The 2011 Waterman&amp;#8217;s Weekend will be held August 11-12th and will raise funds for 20 ocean conservation organizations. The weekend begins Thursday, August 11, with the Waterman&amp;#8217;s Classic Golf Tournament at the Monarch Beach Golf Links, and culminates on Friday, August 12, with the 22nd annual Waterman&amp;#8217;s Ball and auction to be held at The Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel, Calif.

  <title>Jackson Browne And Friends Play Concert For Chile</title>
  <description>Jackson Browne headlined a surfer&amp;#8217;s benefit for survivors of the Chilean earthquake at Brushfire Records&amp;#8217; studios in Los Angeles last week.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The singer joined musicians such as Jon Swift, White Buffalo, Andrew Bird and LA-based band Dawes at the gig to benefit Save the Waves, an environmental coalition &amp;#8211; dedicated to preserving the world&amp;#8217;s surf spots and their surrounding environments &amp;#8211; that is heavily involved in relief efforts following last month&amp;#8217;s earthquake.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The evening featured acoustic and electric sets, as well as an auction that featured items donated by Jack Johnson, Kelly Slater and many more.
