John Legend To Front Education Campaign

John Legend is set to front a new initiative to help lower the rate of high school dropouts.

The singer-songwriter – well known for his support of education causes – will appear in print, online and TV commercials for advertising giants Procter & Gamble to raise awareness for Communities in Schools.

“I believe that making sure that every kid has a quality education is the key to making sure that every kid has the opportunity to pursue the American dream,” Legend told The Associated Press.

As reported by Look To The Stars last week, ICAP – the world’s premier interdealer broker – will hold its 16th annual global Charity Day on Wednesday, 10 December. On this day, all company revenues will be donated to over 100 charities around the world. We can now reveal some of the stars confirmed to make appearances.

Heading the lineup will be Meryl Streep and Julianne Moore. They will be joined by tennis ace Anna Kournikova, race car champion Jeff Gordon, and football legends Joe Montana and Boomer Esiason.

The stars will be appearing at Harborside Financial Center, Plaza 5, Jersey City between 9am and 5pm to rally employee enthusiasm and interact with clients to help boost trading volumes.

Matthew McConaughey – recently voted as having one of the best sets of abs in Hollywood – has teamed up with Ebay to auction off a one-of-a-kind 2007 Knockout Motorcycle Co. Commemorative Texas Longhorn Themed Bobber Motorcycle, plus tickets for two to the University Of Texas football game for charity.

“I’m going to be auctioning off my UT motorcycle, and offering you the opportunity to get some of these other goodies,” said the 38-year-old actor, soon to be seen in his upcoming movie, Surfer, Dude. “We’ve got a package for you. It contains UT football tickets, Surfer Dude premiere tickets, signed Just Keep Living T-Shirts, signed Surfer Dude posters, and headshots [photos] if you want ’em. 100% of the proceeds are going to benefit the Just Keep Living Foundation. This Foundation is dedicated to helping boys and girls transform and become good men and women. How? Well, through programs that teach the importance of decision-making, health – mental, physical, and spiritual – education, and good all-round active living.”

McConaughey set up the JK Livin Foundation – the Just Keep Living Foundation – due to his interest in helping young people to live fuller lives. The Foundation has recently partnered with Communities in Schools to implement fitness and wellness programs. The JK Livin afterschool program will give children a healthy start in life and the promise of a healthy future.
