Free Arts for Abused Children

Free Arts for Abused Children’s programs inspire hope in the lives of children who have experienced abuse, homelessness, and poverty through innovative creative arts programs and positive interactions with caring adult volunteers.

In 2011, Free Arts programs reached 29,141 children in need throughout greater Los Angeles. This number is staggering and would not be possible without the dedication of 554 volunteers, who gave more then 13,000 hours of service last year alone.

Free Arts programs take place in every corner of Los Angeles and parts of Orange County to reach children in the communities of greatest need.

To administer all programs, Free Arts works with partner agencies, which include shelters, residential facilities, family resource centers, courthouses, and more. By placing volunteers in facilities where children and families are already receiving services, the programs are more effective, resulting in the ultimate goal of all Free Arts’ programs: inspiring hope, creating understanding, and nurturing self- esteem.
