Hollywood Arts Council

The Hollywood Arts Council is a non-profit public benefit corporation dedicated to contributing to the quality of life in the community of Hollywood by promoting, nurturing and supporting the arts.

The Hollywood Arts Council was founded in 1978 as a grassroots membership organization open to all who believed that the arts and culture of Hollywood must play a role in the lives of residents and visitors.

The Hollywood Arts Council serves the community through advocacy, coalition building, free public arts events and after school programs. The Hollywood Arts Council believes that the arts revitalize people as well as communities. It is toward this vision that the Hollywood Arts Council serves Hollywood.

Project S.O.A.R. (Students Overcoming All Risks) is the Council’s centerpiece outreach project that provides access to creativity and the arts for underserved, at-risk children in Hollywood Title 1 elementary schools. Workshops are offered to children at no cost and cover a wide variety of artistic disciplines – theatre arts, dance, improv, mixed media, painting, cultural arts and more.
