Ted Danson Launches Petition Against Seismic Testing

Ted Danson and Oceana have organized a new petition to President Obama to reject the use of seismic testing (to search for oil and gas deposits) off the Atlantic Coast.

The petition was launched on April 15th and must reach 100,000 by May 15th to trigger a written response from the Obama Administration.

Getting the administration to take up this issue is the first step to ensuring this destructive practice doesn’t happen on the Atlantic Coast and gathering 100,000 signatures will ensure that administration considers the plea.

Adrian Grenier And Kate Walsh Attend Oceana Ball

Jenna has donated several pieces from her personal closet, including dresses worn on the red carpet and even one dress worn to the first Twilight movie premiere.

Oceana is the largest international organization that focuses solely on the ocean conservative. “I’ve worked very closely with Oceana for a few years now. They are just so dedicated and work solely towards preserving our oceans which take up 71% of our earth” says Jenna about Oceana.

Victoria Principal Makes Donations To Stop Offshore Drilling

Kristin Bauer Promotes A New Shark Bill

Actress Kristin Bauer is asking Americans to tell their senators to support the Shark Conservation Act in an upcoming vote.

In her letter published last week in the Huffington Post Bauer says, “There is a bill awaiting a vote in the US Senate that would eliminate in US waters the barbaric practice of amputating shark fins at sea, and make our country an international leader in shark conservation.”

After watching Sharkwater, a documentary that aims to expose the realities of the shark finning industry as well as shed light on the nature of sharks that are usually feared by humans, and after participating in some diving expeditions to view sharks in their natural habitat, Bauer says her eyes have been opened.

Ted Danson Testifies For Science And Preparedness In The Arctic

Oceana founder and board member Ted Danson attended a hearing and presenting public testimony to the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement on Tuesday, November 9.

Danson is a long-time ocean advocate, who recently spent time in the Arctic. His testimony focused on the lack of basic scientific information about the Chukchi Sea ecosystem and the lack of response capabilities in the event of a spill.

“If you had done the science to begin with, maybe you would have said, ‘You know what? Don’t drill here, drill there,” he said. "It has less impact on the environment, and you can still get your oil.’

The star of HBO’s ‘Entourage’, Adrian Grenier, has made quite a name for himself as an eco-activist and has designed a new limited-edition t-shirt with the help of Nautica and GQ’s The Gentlemen's Fund to benefit Oceana.

100% of the $25 organic cotton tee will go directly to Oceana — the ocean conservation organization supported by the actor.

“I think its important to constantly be updating and evolving with the changing philosophies, the changing science and team up with Oceana and Nautica and actually going out and seeing firsthand what’s happening,” says Grenier, " A lot of people don’t have the opportunity to actually see how we and our consumption [are] affecting the ocean and I find it to be a really fulfilling experiencing when you’re getting your hands dirty , when you’re participating, as opposed to sitting by idly and watching it all go by you."
