Couture for a Cause has enlisted the help of famed TV personality Joan Rivers for their fourth annual high fashion runway show, committed to the support of local charities through fashion.

With almost two months before the event aptly entitled “Joys of Life,” tickets are in such high demand throughout the New York Metro area and VIP tickets are already nearly sold out, event organizers have decided to move the show to a larger more extravagant venue than in years prior. The lavish runway show has become the event of the who’s who in the Jewish community in recent years. Foundation Co-Chairs Esther Berg and Michal Weinstein contacted renowned TV personality Joan Rivers, host of E! Networks “Fashion Police,” who is guaranteed to be a crowd pleaser.

“We are so excited for this year’s event. We have so many amazing sponsors and some wonderful surprises planned for attendees,” states Esther Silber Berg Co-Chair at Couture for a Cause known for her extraordinary contribution to high fashion.

VIP attendees at the fourth annual runway show will not only score front row seats at the Joys of Life fashion show, but they can expect to receive an amazing swag bag, entry into exclusive raffles as well as admission into a private VIP after party with a chance to meet host, Joan Rivers.

Couture for a Cause is determined to keep the focus on the causes at hand. Every dollar raised at their events goes directly to the charities they are supporting. There is no profit for the hosting organization; who have stayed true to their commitment to help those less fortunate.

“We set a goal for each of the organizations Couture for a Cause is working with this year. We want to ensure that these charities stay the focus of the event. This year’s Joys of Life event will benefit the Shirat Devorah Foundation and the Jewish Kidney Foundation,” states Silber Berg.

The Shirat Devorah Foundation was started to help a local mother of four whose home was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. Devorah was recently diagnosed with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease,” which affects the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Devorah has been given 2-4 years to live, as this disease currently has no known cure.

The Jewish Kidney Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives through kidney donation. The foundation assists people suffering from various forms of kidney disease, providing services to both donor and recipient. Their goal is to make the kidney donors’ experience as smooth as possible and to provide continuous support thru the donation process.

Couture for a Cause is an organization started by philanthropist and childhood friends Esther Silber Berg and Michal Weinstein in efforts to bring attention and aide various charities, both local and abroad. They have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for various charitable organizations since their premier fashion event in 2007.
