Save the Children UK is thrilled to announce a stellar line-up for its annual Christmas Tree Sessions.

Brit pop band Supergrass’s Gaz Coombes, indie rock bands Lanterns on the Lake and The Moons, jazz and soul musician Will Heard and Modfather Paul Weller (who will be performing a select number of his classic tracks), will all take to the stage of London’s iconic Union Chapel for an eclectic evening of live music and entertainment.

The evening is curated and hosted by BBC Radio 6 Music DJ Lauren Laverne. There will be Christmas readings from writer and journalist Caitlin Moran, comedians Chris Addison, Dom Joly and Peter Serafinowicz and Scottish writer, John Niven.

There will also be music from the fabulous London Metropolitan Orchestra. Directed by Andy Brown the troupe has recorded countless film scores, as well as played with Paul McCartney, Pink Floyd, U2 and the Pet Shop Boys.

The acts will be wearing their favourite festive sweaters to support Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day and hope the audience will wear theirs too.

Lauren Laverne said: “Gaz Coombes and Paul Weller are brilliant live and it’s not often you get the chance to see such big names in such an intimate venue. Save the Children’s Christmas Tree Sessions is a great night, for a great cause, I can’t wait.”

The event is on Thursday 5th December and will be broadcast live on The Guardian website. Tickets cost £40.

All proceeds will go to Save the Children’s Syria Crisis Appeal, which is helping give children food, clean water, medicine and clothing. This Christmas, more than 1million Syrian children will be living in refugee camps or temporary accommodation, miles from their home. Many have lost or been separated from members of their family. Your help can make all the difference.

Last year’s Christmas Tree Sessions had an equally incredible line-up that included Spiritualized, Band of Skulls, Fyfe Dangerfield, Kodaline and Elbow's Guy Garvey in a phenomenal one-off duet with Myleene Klass. This sell-out event was also viewed by 64,000 music fans around the globe via You Tube live-stream and video-on-demand.

To watch out for updates on this year’s line-up and to buy tickets, visit www.savethechildren.org.uk/xmastreesessions. All proceeds from the night will support Save the Children’s life-changing work with children affected by the Syrian crisis. Tickets are £40 and will be on sale soon.
