Ruben Studdard will kick-off the 21st annual health expo sponsored by the Health Ministry of First Baptist Church of Glenarden.

This year’s theme, “You Are What You Eat: Creating a Healthy Lifestyle,” is designed to tackle unhealthy diets and sedentary lifestyles leading to chronic disease and premature death. From FREE medical and dental screenings, fitness and cooking demonstrations, “Ask the Health Experts” panel and much more, attendees will receive a wealth of practical information on how to live healthier, more-fulfilling lives.

New this year: walk through a giant inflatable colon to see how your colon works. Plus, a life-sized display will show how fruits and vegetables affect different parts of the body. Climb the rock wall or learn to play soccer. From education and support for expecting teens and/or teen parents, a “Man Cave” with PSA screenings, Senior Cove, along with children’s “Healthy Youth Club,” there is valuable information and fun-filled activities for the entire family. Outdoors, attendees can purchase fresh fruits and vegetables from the farmers market.
