On Saturday, Steve Harvey's foundation, The Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation ( SMHF), held its annual gala at the Hilton Chicago hotel.

The SMHF Gala honors individuals who make a measurable difference in the lives of young men and women. Through their careers or philanthropic efforts they serve as responsible role models to youth. In addition, the benefit honors corporations and organizations that show consistent commitment to empower and enhance the lives of young people and/or underserved families in their communities.

Celebrity honorees this year include actress Holly Robinson-Peete, Co-Founder of The HollyRod Foundation, and Dwyane Wade and his sister Tragil Wade, Founder and Executive Director of Wade’s World Foundation. The special evening featured a performance from R&B singer Ledisi. Other celebrities in attendance included Matt Forte of the Chicago Bears, Chef Art Smith, and actor Laroyce Hawkins.

The mission of The Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation is to provide outreach to fatherless children and young adults by promoting educational enrichment, one-on-one mentoring and global service initiatives that will cultivate the next generation of responsible leaders.
