The Larry King Cardiac Foundation has announced a special new charity auction that – for the first time ever – will use proceeds to fund a heart stent procedure for a very deserving person.

The highest bidder will receive a personal thank you call from Larry King in which he will talk about how the auction funds are being used. The winner will have the opportunity to ask Larry questions about his own experience with heart surgery – he underwent a quintuple heart bypass in 1988.

King established the Larry King Cardiac Foundation to “provide funding for life-saving treatment for individuals who, due to limited means or no insurance, would otherwise be unable to receive the treatment and care they so desperately need. The Foundation works in conjunction with hospitals throughout the nation to ensure that such patients receive proper medical attention. Doctors performing these surgeries do so at no charge. Hospitals are compensated only for the materials used. Hearts are repaired. Families are given another chance. Lives are saved.”

The auction – powered by AuctionCause – runs until March 16 and can be accessed here.
