Two of the hottest stars in Entertainment want to reach out and help those in need.

Rihanna said this week that she would like to use her experience of being beaten at the hands of rapper Chris Brown to raise awareness of domestic violence.

“The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that,” she said. "I want to give as much insight as I can to young women, because I feel like I represent a voice that really isn’t heard. Domestic violence is a big secret. No kid goes around and lets people know their parents fight.

“Teenage girls can’t tell their parents that their boyfriend beat them up. You don’t dare let your neighbour know that you fight. It’s one of the things women will hide, because it’s embarrassing. My story was broadcast all over the world for people to see, and they have followed every step of my recovery.”

Another star who wants to do some good in the world is Megan Fox, who would like to use her celebrity status to raise awareness of neglected children.

“Overall, in terms of this business, I hope to gain the status that will enable me to be truly and legitimately helpful to people,” she said. “I feel like that’s my purpose in life, to do charity work and help people around the world on a global level. Being part of this business, you have so much influence and you can really make a difference. I’m drawn towards the idea of somehow helping children.”
