Veteran actor Dennis Hopper attended a fundraising event in support of cancer sufferers during the weekend – his first appearance since it was announced he had the disease last month.


The star was at the Breeders’ Cup horse-racing event in support of The V Foundation for Cancer Research on Saturday at Santa Anita Park in Southern California.

Hopper has started an experimental treatment at the University of Southern California.

“It has great promise,” he said. “Everything’s good right now.”
