Leona Lewis will be spending some time in the dark on Saturday, March 27th, 2010 at 8:30 pm local time, joining millions of people and sending a statement to everyone across the world.

For one hour, people will be shutting off the lights to send the message that they care about what’s going on with the climate today.

Earth Hour is an initiative sparked by the World Wildlife Fund that is intended to urge action on climate change. It began three years ago and has truly captured the attention of the world. In 2009, nearly one billion people turned off their lights for Earth Hour. Nearly 80 million people were Americans in 318 cities U.S cities. Major landmarks such as the Empire State Building, the Las Vegas Strip, the Brooklyn and Golden Gate Bridges, the Seattle Space Needle, and more participated in this event.
