Former ‘The Price Is Right’ host Bob Barker has donated $2.5 million for the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals to open a new location in Los Angeles.
PETA President Ingrid Newkirk joined the ‘spay and neuter’ champion on Wednesday for the groundbreaking at what will become the new PETA office on Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park. The building will be home to the group’s media, marketing, youth outreach and campaign departments.
Newkirk says Barker paid for an entire building to be renovated, which isn’t a surprise considering the tireless humanitarian hasn’t stopped promoting various animal rights issues such as freedom for whales, and an end to the fur trade, since he retired in 2008.

Agreed 100%, Elizabeth. I gave money to PETA for decades until finding out that they kill nearly every animal they rescue! I'm so disgusted, I cried for weeks. I was so happy they were rescuing animals from labs, and stupidly believing they were nursing them back to health till they could find homes for them. I feel like a jerk. Mr. Barker, please do not give money to PETA - they are killing the animals you are trying so hard to save. Please give your money to organizations that actually help animals. PETA, I noticed you never answered my email or my phone messages. When your rep called me asking for a donation and I told her how upset I was, she put me on hold and never came back. Hmmmm, I wonder why.

I love that Bob Barker donates so much money to such worthy organizations, but I feel that peta is not one of them.
Bob are you, your organization, or for that matter anyone else aware that PETA's euthanasia rate was 97% in 2009??
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) impounded 2,366 animals. They killed 2,301 and found homes for only 8. Another 31 were transferred to killing shelters and their fates are unknown.
Please Bob Barker request a refund and then donate that money to some rescues that could really really use that money to save some animals and not a new nuilding!!
